Really hope this finds its way to Netflix.

I don’t know if they’ll do it again this year, but for the last 4 years Hulu has had a $2 a month for a year Black Friday deal. If they do it again it’s well worth $2 a month, even with commercials.

Wow, that’s a great deal! Hopefully they run it again this year. Thanks for the heads up.

Not sure which show to go for next

I’m watching Twinkling Watermelon on Viki. There are a few episodes left to drop but so far it’s close to a 10/10 for me.

I think eventually I will get around to watching 75% of recommendations on this thread.

I'm leaning towards Flower of Evil .
Don't think I've seen it mentioned on here.

Probably watch Ballerina over the weekend.

Just started Moving on Hulu. It’s based on some really popular webtoon. 8.6 on IMDB which is very good.

I just finished this and it was really good, thanks to you and the others for the suggestion. I always forget to check Hulu for K-Dramas, so no telling how much longer it would have taken me to find it myself.

*SPOILERS*

Even though it ended in a way that felt complete, based on the post-credit scenes I wonder if there will be another season. I had a feeling Frank would be alive, so it would be cool to see him switch sides, .

Also, I had been wondering what happened to the bullied friend but then she showed up as the director's boss which was a surprise. Would like to see more details/backstory about that.

I haven't finished Arthdal Chronicles yet, but for those interested Hulu has the second season, called Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun.

Hotel de Luna was absolutely bonkers

Great show, I am surprised it took this long to get a mention. It is a combination ghost story, mystery story and romance.
It's about Man-wol, a bandit chief in feudal Korea (and a complete hottie), trying to atone for all the deaths she caused. She meets a demi-god who makes her the proprietor of a hotel for the dead.
Flash forward a thousand years, and Man-wol is bored out of her mind and waiting to move on. She catches a thief trying to steal from the hotel and she permits him to live in return for his son's services.
Flash forward another 20 years. The son, Chang-sung, is a young hotel executive about to start a new job when he runs into Man-wol, who forces him to work for her instead.
The series is about Chang-sung growing into his role as manager of the hotel, his developing relationship with Man-wol, various mysteries they solve, and flashbacks telling Man-wol's back story.
Definitely worth watching!

I just finished Twinkling Watermelon and I really liked it. It’s at least a 9/10 for me.

I got the Hulu BF deal so I’m going to start Moving if I can suffer through all of the ads.

For any fans of the supernatural/ghost genre, Revenant on Hulu was pretty good in my opinion.

Finished it and did enjoy it.
Though one episode had way too much crying in it for my taste.Started to cringe when both characters were in the same scene.
Have to hand it to them,Koreans know how to cry pretty.
Thankfully it got back on track.

I originally started alchemy of souls.
But after seeing 3 people from Uncanny counters in the first 5 minutes I thought it best to put it off for a while.

Snuck in Vigilante and Narco Saints.
Good quick series.

We searched if there was a Korean Diehard for Christmas.
Found "The Tower" and gave it a go.
I'll stick with Diehard

Now 4 episodes into Alchemy of Souls.

Just finished Run On. Very enjoyable leads and secondary characters. More of a lighter side/feel good drama than the more heavy stuff I’ve been watching. Just started Mine. Wow, two episodes in. Think it’s going to be a good one.

I’ve been watching Miraculous brothers. It starts off slow but like other Korean shows by the fourth episode it really really starts to get good. It’s like a mix of a supernatural show and an 80s revenge movie.

Death's Game is a new Korean show on Amazon. The basic plot is a guy pisses off Death when he dies, so Death inserts him into the bodies of people who will soon die and makes him live through 12 more deaths as punishment.

It's really hard to describe, it's almost like a super twisted take on Quantum Leap because as he jumps into different bodies he's got to figure out not only how to survive the situation, but to eventually beat Death at her game. There's a mix of lots of genres at play and it's just a well told story like a lot of these Korean shows. There's a bit of love story, a bit of family story, a bit of action thriller/mystery, and a bit of fight scene/car chase action. Also there were multiple twists along the way, often unexpected.

One Dollar Lawyer on Hulu is great. It's about an elite lawyer that only charges 1000 won and his clients are the downtrodden underdogs of the world. It's a very good mix of comedy and tragedy, with a compelling main story arc and likeable characters.

Mu-deok became a family favorite.
Loved season 1 and liked season 2.
Followed with The Sound of your heart.
Quick little 10 episode comedy.

Then watched extraordinary attorney woo.
Wow,what a great show.

Have 3 shows going at the moment.
Kim's convenience gets 2 episodes a night
I'm the only one in the house watching Sisyphus The Myth.

And 4 episodes to go with Miraculous Brothers.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo is so good. I read recently that the male lead has finished or almost finished his military service so hopefully they’ll start filming again soon.

I finished Moving and it was great.

I’m currently watching Healer on Viki. It’s older and some of the action sequences are silly but it’s a good watch so far. Since this thread doesn’t have a lot of action I’ve started reading recommendations on Reddit. I think a lot of those posters are pretty young so I’ve had to learn to filter recommendations, and sometimes I dip in and out of shows depending on my mood, but I’ve found some solid recs there. I have a list that will already take me years to get through and I’m always adding new ones.

I’m also watching Welcome to Samdal-ri but I’ll finish Healer before going back to it.

My daughter is a photographer so we will probably end up watching that.

My next show will be The worst of Evil.

Definitely would love a 2nd season of

How old is your daughter? I have a 17 year old who doesn’t watch Korean shows (or much tv at all) but I really want her to watch Twinkling Watermelon so I’m suggesting it to you if y’all haven’t watched it. I think it’s perfect for all ages.

Another show I was surprised I liked but also thought my 17 year old would like was True Beauty.

Both are on Viki, though.

ETA: another show I liked recently was Hit the Top or also known as The Biggest Hit. It and Twinkling Watermelon deal with some time travel back to the 90s, sons meeting the youthful versions of their fathers and music. Despite the similar premise, they’re really different stories and both were done well.
