I agree with this. I sort of feel like his story was done. Plus, most people complained about the show always giving the guys an unrealistic out in bad situations, such as Romeo being CIA at the end of last season. I hate that Opie died, as he was my favorite character, but I'm ok with it from a story perspective. Because of the life they live, bad stuff has to happen to them at some point.

I agree im glad they had the stones to actually go through with it
Opie was in bad shape and wanted a way out. sad but it does enhance the story line.
this could be on level with S2 which was my favorite. finally a solid as bad guy again

I think at the very least he has far more pull then he lets on. The coverage was definitely his. Can't put my finger on what exactly he does or who he is though.

Kinda saw the Opie thing coming. He left his kids and lots of $ with the whore and while Jax was thinking about what to do in the cell, Opie had a strange, blank stare. He probably saw something like this coming. Wanted to go out the SAMCRO way.

They didn't exactly disappear. Pope is now looking into the home invasions per Jax's inquiry. And considering the content they covered away from Charming these past two episodes it wasn't necessary to cover them.
