the first season of SoA is on over here right now. Forget what number episode just showed, but Gemma asked Clay for a favor, he didn't want to do it, she said he'd do it because she loved him and Clay goes "Loving you is going to kill me one day"

gonna be tough to tie Piney being shot to a mexican gang. Why would they go after him?

Exactly. And Gemma is going to know. Then she'll figure out he's after Tara (if she doesn't die first) and it's game over for Clay.

Gemma may be hesitant to give up Clay and the letters becasue of her involvment in JTs death... Hopefully she just takes him out on her own.

What about Juice? One would think that he tries to kill himself because of wrong he has done to the club. Will it come out next week? Will they think he was giving info to the mexicans? Maybe that's the opportunity to say it wasn't me......I'm half black not Mexican!!!

nah, Chibs is probably thinking that he's just having a rough time dealing with shooting a member of their own club. I'm hesitant to think they are on to him about what really happened.
How bad does Opie get shite on by this club without even knowing it? I mean his wife, his dad, Opie's gonna go freaking nuts if he finds out the truth about his dad.
Also it wouldn't be to hard for the club to believe that LS/Cartel found Piney. They murdered a few non factors in different locations already. All except for the Samcro group. So this would just be perceived as basically killing a member from each charter. But Gemma knows and this will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Those were killings meant to send a message, more or less. Brutal and cutting off heads and shite.
Piney's would seem a bit too random/unneeded to tie to the cartel, and bit too amateur IMO.

good point, didn't look at it from that angle.
So now what, any other reasons why the cartel would go after Piney, that the club could believe?

I think it's going to play out with Gemma finding out/confronting Clay in the next few episodes. Tara will probably survive a botched hit just before the finale. Then the last episode everything will come out including JT's death. Then Jax will let Opie kill Clay, and it will be the Jax-Gemma showdown over the truth of his father. Can't see Gemma dying but hell who knows anymore.
Also somewhere in there the old sheriff dies via Clay and Juice comes clean.

It's gonna be a tough sell, and i wonder how Gemma will handle it. I didn't think Juice would live because it didn't fit in with the style of the show, but i was wrong there too.

Gemma will make it through to the end of the show.
She liked Piney, but she was more about protecting the club than protecting Piney. She might be ok with it.

This. And remember her family. She was willing to cop to murders she didn't commit so she could stop running and be close to them while serving a life sentence, in particular her grandson. Now she's got two, and Clay is trying to kill their mother and has brought so much violence into their lives, and Gemma has said she "hates it". She's going to find out everything about Clay, and I think Clay will end up trying to kill Jax when Jax finds out, which Gemma would never go along with. Gemma, mother of them all, will kill Clay to remove the poison from the club and secure the place for her son, who will implement JT's reforms. Or at least try to. (Cons: Gemma ain't a member, but then she's about the only one left who's been there since the beginning, and I think that may trump being just an old lady. Besides, Gemma's a killer and quite evil in her own right.)
I don't think it will be Opie, because Opie's already had a couple of big revenge scenes, Stahl and someone else I can't remember. I think it would be kinda dull to give him Clay, who he actually forgave for trying to kill him but instead killing Donna. That was just club business, and so was Clay killing Piney, as I expect blackmailing the prez would be frowned upon. Plus, Opie has gone along with Clay's decisions that Piney was blackmailing him to reverse, agreements with the cartel they can't really get out of without all being killed.
It could certainly be Jax that kills Clay, but he would be the obvious choice to do it. I think it would be better for the club to find out Clay whacked half the Original 9 and finally really realize he's tried to whack half the current members not to mention their families and vote to take him out. Clay just kills everybody.
