Just got out. Theater was packed and honestly, this movie had no business being as solid as it was. Very good kid movies with enough to keep the adults interested, but Carrey is in true 90s form and had me laughing the entire time. Pleasantly surprised.

It made $68 million. Sequel soon come.

So, is this a huge win for Jim Carrey? When was the last time he had a hit? Glad to see it did so well, especially since they had to rework Sonic's original look.

Thought the same, as a Sonic fan as a kid, I went into that movie to hate watch it.

At the end of it, people were applauding. Didn't see that coming.

Movie was actually really good. Jim Carey owned his role, yet didn’t have to carry the movie by himself because the rest was good too.

Went and looked at his IMDB page. His last big hit may have been Bruce Almighty back in 2003 or Horton Hears a Who in 2008. Either way, it's been a while

Just got out, way better than I was expecting.

Plenty of jokes for kids and adults. It was refreshing to see Jim Carey being more or less his old self and it worked.

“You? I’m not even wearing pants!” Best line for us adults in reference to the human being probed by aliens.

My kids loved it. They were engaged throughout the entire film. I also liked it a lot. I really hope the make the sequel.

No one saw this coming after the first design was scrapped.

The shocking thing is: someone at a major studio listened to the fans, considered what they were saying, and agreed with them.

The result is a runaway (I couldn't resist) hit.

Of course, some in the media are denouncing this as "entitled" fans destroying the original artistic vision of the director. Even though it was the director who said "Yep, you guys are right, we need to fix this."

Regardless I'm looking forward to this coming out on DVD so I can watch it. Everything I've heard is that it is just a good solid entertaining movie.

I freaking loved this movie.

I normally wouldn’t go see this, because I am an adult, so I probably would’ve just waited for it to come out on Redbox. But I’m in Brownsville, Texas for work and had nothing to do yesterday so I went to see it. It’s just super entertaining, and obviously as somebody who spent pretty much every day during the summer when I was in elementary school playing baseball and then playing this game, it was a nice call back
