#SoloAStarWarsStory is reaaaaalllly good. Fun as hell. It’s a straight intergalactic heist movie, kind of refreshing to see a Star Wars movie w/o a Death Star or the rebellion’s fate at stake. Alden Ehrenreich is super impressive as Han, but L3 might be my favorite new character.

There’s some fun to be had with #SoloAStarWarsStory. Ehrenreich was solid and really enjoyed Glover and Waller-Bridge as L3, but not convinced we needed a young Han Solo movie. Was really hoping for higher stakes, more energy and depth.

#SoloAStarWarsStory: It takes a bit for it to find its feet and for AE to turn on enough charm to make you forget he’s not HF. But once it kicks into its hey-let’s-make-a-crew and yes-also-do-a-heist stuff, it totally flies.

I figured if @DisneyStudios was willing to show 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' a few weeks before release it must be good and it absolutely is. Film is a blast and a welcome addition to the Star Wars universe. @RealRonHoward you did a great job. Congrats.

The first act of SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY can be hit and miss clunky. But once Donald Glover's Lando shows up (who is legit fantastic) and the Kessel Run heist plot kicks in, it's a whole lot of fun. (And those who've always wanted a Han and Chewbacca shower scene are in luck.)

After seeing #SoloAStarWarsStory I can confirm one thing: bank on Lando: A Star Wars Story getting a green light by the end of the year. Donald Glover continues to be perfect.

I thought you guys said TLJ broke Star Wars

quote:

EXCLUSIVE: Disney/Lucasfilm’s Solo: A Star Wars Story has landed on tracking and the Memorial Day release per industry projections (not Disney) are forecasting a Friday through Monday start of $170M-plus at the domestic box office.

Sources tell Deadline that Solo‘s tracking is “pretty strong” with an unaided score of 28 that’s higher than Rogue One: A Star Wars Story ($155M, 23 score) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 ($146.5M, 23). Unaided awareness indicates how strong the buzz is on a title among those who are unprompted in polling and it’s a priceless stat off which studios buy their TV ads.

Under Lucas: Sequels are great, prequels are bad

Under Disney: Prequels are good, sequels are bad

Yeah, I'm pumped for Solo, but they have pretty much killed my interest for episode 9 and I'm a die hard Star Wars guy.

Star Wars is by far my favorite property and tTLJ broke me for that trilogy but that doesn’t mean there’s still good shite to come out of that universe

Big-budget SW movies will always make tons of money. People can bitch and piss and moan all they want about how much something sucks or will suck, and the masses will still flock to theaters to see it.

They’re in for a bitter disapointment. It’s not going to gross $170M it’s opening weekend. I refuse to believe it. $145 tops.

watch what happens that next weekend. I don't doubt it will have a big opening. Bet it drops pretty quick tho without repeat viewings.

SOLO may turn out to be a dud, but I don't understand the people that are projecting onto this movie just because of the failure of TLJ.

I just don't understand the point of this movie. There are no stakes, no one can die or get injured, we already know the outcome of every main plot point, and no one asked for it. The only thing this movie can do is further annoy the fanbase and take a giant steaming shite on the characters TLJ didn't get thr chance to retcon or write into meaningless bullshite.

Kathleen Kennedy is a worthless count.

I hated TLJ, but I'm a sucker for the OT setting. I hope it's good.

You know what else is criticality acclaimed and commercially profitable? The entire Kardashian family and a mentally ill Olympic athlete that mutilated his own genitals to the cheers of critics.

I hope to see you defending all Kardashians anytime someone shits on them.

Kudos to them. They won't be getting any of my money that weekend. Or any weekend for Solo.

This is my Han Solo...

How far off the mark were the projections for TLJ? And IW?
