Haven't watched any significant amount of professional wrestling basically since the turn of the millennium, but apparently the first legitimate alternative to WWF (I'll never call it WWE) has arisen with a new league called AEW.

Not going to claim to be some expert on it, but apparently a couple of big stars have left WWF and Chris Jericho is also kind of their headliner. They also have a new weekly show on TNT on Wednesday nights. I tuned in, it's nothing special it seems, but they got Tony Schiavone and JR calling the matches...and that's worth watching alone.

All I know is, nothing will ever touch the glory days of my childhood and late 90s WCW vs WWF.

You WWE fanboi cultists are about to have a really rude awakening when Vince ruins NXT too and continues to run WWE into the ground. The fall is coming at some point. Vince won’t step down. So they’d have to force him out. They’re gonna be better off after that fall though.

I think Shad Kahn's (Jags owner) is the money behind this league. Doubt he will sell since he's about as rich or richer than Vince already.

I don't know what kind of ratings TNT expects but the first episode did three times the number of people who normally watch whatever random they were showing in that time slot. Audience is much younger than WWE too.

It did better than re runs of burn notice. Wow! Competition is good, but AEW is basically SJWTNA and will fade quicker. Heard good things about NWA Power though, might check that out.

I just flipped over and caught a bit of it. It has a very edgy, old school RAW/Nitro feel to it.

I had heard how AEW was selling out their shows in minutes while WWE was struggling to fill the arena. Makes sense to me now.

WWE has some competition.

AEW is selling out because it’s the new shiny toy going to smaller arenas in big wrestling cities.

When it’s 6 months in and they can’t get a crowd over 8k in a city outside of the northeast, you’ll see what they really are. Heck their debut show didn’t even sellout. WWE sells out Staples Center 4-5 times a year, MSG 3-4, sells out around the world.

AEW is the neckbeard hipster wrestling promotion. It’s 2004 TNA’s fanbase with a dash of 90s baby shenaginans that come with young millennials.

The first three tv tapings were bought out by scalpers so not all seats are filled. They are playing smaller arenas, not the big NBA arenas WWE plays. Looks better to have 5-6000 in a 10,000 seat building than to have the same amount in a 15,000 seat building. AEW tends to have hotter crowds too.

AEW didnt sell out tonight

And before anyone makes excuses for this pic there was a pic of Becky being posted with her on the mic and an empty camera side over and over for weeks on the OT wrestling threads that made fun of WWE

What kind of reward do you give yourself for shitting on a product people like?

You know you’re just as bad as the douche smarks that you’re complaining about, right?

Aew fanboys love shitting on WWE in WWE threads but you don’t see WWE fans going into AEW threads to do the same. Hell I don’t even pay any mind to them. Every damn week some neckbeards comes into the RAW thread declaring it the wOrSt EpIsOdE eVeR and they won’t watch it again. Same time the next week, guess who’s back in the same thread with the same post.

Actually that’s exactly what you and few others Vince marks do, baby.

AEW has the best announcing team in the biz (second is Matt & Vampiro), the most talented wrestler in the world today, the best tag team in the world, smart booking and most importantly Le GOAT and his Inner Circle, baby!

WWE hasn’t had a groove since John Cena went to Hollywood and CM Punk quit.

All that blood money from the Saudis and now a new network that’s going to cut the legs out from their flagship show on USA.

At least they shored up The OC before they bolted.

WWE just killed one of their best concepts, Hell in a Cell, without any reason.

Bring back the pussy, drugs, blood and let the writers be the frickers in the ring.

And frick flying guys everywhere, make them have to ride in cars together to places.

You sound like the typical stereotype of a fat overweight SJW smelly snarky neckbeard who is an AEW fan. You have to be a troll trying to make AEW fans look bad
