re: So, apparently a new round of pro wrestling tv wars are brewing
Well, I definitely watch wrestling for the wrestling, not a bunch of stiffs who cant a promo after 5 years.

Maybe with all that Fox money, WWE can pry Cena away from Nickelodeon and have him “sports entertain” us all, possibly putting some guys over because VKM doesn’t have Hogan Dust just lying around anymore.

Or another draft, that will work. 3rd reboot in the last year!!!!

I liked wrestling when I was a kid cause you didn't really know it was all fake. Now you do, so I guess I lost interest in it.

And I knew Randy Savage from his days wrestling in Lexington. He had a brother named Lanny Poffo who wrestled too, their dad was a wrestler before them.

I didn't come in here to flame or get involved in some WWE vs AEW squabble. I rarely watch wrestling anymore but did back in the WCW/WWF/NWO days. Nowadays I might watch about 5 minutes of RAW every month or two as I'm flipping around.

I had read an article or two on AEW and saw some thread titles on TD with the name in it. Saw this thread, was flipping through, so I checked it out. It very much has that old edgy feel to it vs. WWE these days which is more polished, corporate, and tame.

Just my observation. I'll bow out now.

AEW is TV-14. They aren't going for Attitude Era, but they're not PG-era WWE either.

The problem with WWE is that they are way too big and have too many cooks in the kitchen.

AEW doesn't even have "writers" on staff so far as I'm aware. Guys can pretty much go out there and say whatever they want on he mic, so you don't have people cutting promos that all sound the same.

What's Wildkat Wrestling?

They have an event in Kenner next month headlining Booker T and Stevie Ray.

They also have Rob van Dam. Is it the new ECW?

If you are or have ever been a wrestling fan, AEW is a tremendously entertaining 2 hour show. Or at least it has been for the first two weeks. Announcers call it more like a sport, or like it used to be called. Little to no backstage stuff or even promos. The announcers and video packages establish the stories and everything else is in the ring. The crowds have been super hot which really makes you feel like you're watching a "big" event. Highest recommendation for a pro wrestling show.

This. A lot of times with mic work, less is more.

WWE has turned into the worst of Nitro with Hogan and Nash doing 20 minute segments, then DDP, Flair, Bischoff, Luger, Piper all doing promos. Exhausting.

Get in the ring and wrestle...or sports entertain or whatever.

Wildkat is just a local New Orleans promotion

Aew really needs to find a Stone Cold type to blow the production through the roof. Problem is, dont think there will ever be another stone cold.

They don't need that, they just need to stop with the WWE rejects and cosplay video game nerds.

He’s really not good anymore. Wasn’t good calling New Japan stuff either. He barely knows anyone’s names. Doesn’t know any of the moves.

At this point he just gets by on his name. His announcing is just him making jokes to cover up that he doesn’t actually know anything about anything these days. They should just use him backstage as a producer/agent/booker/talent scout.

Let Tony Schiavone, who genuinely seems excited and more up to date on the current wrestling landscape, call matches alone with the other guy Excalibur.

It’s hilarious seeing someone that is part of the group that is genuinely angry that a real potentially big time alternative to WWE has popped up is going around calling people neckbeards.

The GOAT ain’t no reject baby.

On the flip side, AEW has guys who can actually wrestle.

Meanwhile your top guys match consists of 5 Superman punches in a row and he can’t even cut a promo.

Rumor has it that Survivor Series is going to end in a count out.

This is what their target audience wants to see though.

Your star is a 150 pound midget whose claim to fame is wrestling with his hands in his pockets.

I've watched the last 2 AEW shows and thought they had some great moments, more entertaining than NXT.

I also caught most of the NWA Power and it is at least as good as NXT. Eli Drake has been WWE ready for a couple years now, but I don't know if he can carry the entire show. Aldis bores me to tears.

AEW’s Star is the GOAT.

WWEs has a guy who throws pancakes into the stands and talks about eating ass...and they put the belt on that guy.

Your Star would rather be on Nickelodeon hosting “Are you smarter than a fifth grader”

But hey what a draft!!!

Is Hunter going to come out and tell you that you matter, again?

I’ll sit back and watch ShitDown, of course with a little bit of the bubbly.

Good luck with your stupid ideas by bad creative that are dead and buried.
