This is true.

Tron is not impressive. Far too short

Yep. Really enjoyed GotG but i cant believe how short tron was. Me and my daughter rode in the very front tjo and it was cool, but felt like the entire ride only lasted 45 seconds.

Universal is better than disney, velocicoaster is just so good. Hagrids ie better than tron but gotg is awesome.

It's simply not worth waiting longer than 20 minutes to ride. I predict most people will ride it once, and then never bother again. It is helping park capacity on paper only.

Completely agree. GOTG is the best ride in Orlando, at least until Epic Universe is open, but after that Universal takes at least the next two spots with Hagrids and Velocicoaster. I'd give the Star Wars ride the next spot.

Where Universal really kills Disney is with the themed lands. It took Disney forever to finally break down and theme a land like Universal does, and they chose completely irrelevant Avatar (of all things). They famously refused to give JK Rowling creative control of Harry Potter in their theme parks and therefore lost that contract to Universal, giving Universal a huge money maker on the level of Nintendo letting PlayStation slip away. It's been decades of poor decisions and refusal to consider Universal Orlando a serious threat, to the point that I believe Universal is poised to shock them. If Epic Universe is as good as it seems, it will be hard to argue that Disney World is the best park in Orlando anymore. It used to be easy to make that argument based on size alone, but decades of mismanagement, coupled with constant innovations from Universal, have ruined that advantage. It's gone. They can't react quick enough to regain it.

I think these folks are stuck in the California mindset where Universal Hollywood is truly not a competitor for Disneyland. I think the corporate execs all spend more time in Cali and therefore dismiss Universal out of hand. What I don't understand is why the local Disney World execs aren't shouting it from the rooftops. They should be seeing what is happening.

That's a really bad number

“Snow White” may be the fairest of them all with a leading $43 million in its domestic box office debut, but Disney’s latest live-action remake is off to a sleepy start.

Overseas, “Snow White” also opened slightly behind projections with $44.3 million for a global launch of $87.3 million. Heading into the weekend, the film was estimated to collect $100 million globally.

Yep, we should all be thankful for this because the HP themed worlds in universal are really well done. Disney wouldn't have dared to make them as narrow and we wouldnt have gotten anything like diagon alley.

The only disney park that has decent theming is animal kingdom, epcot, and the section of HS that is star wars.

What a box office disaster this movie is. It made less than Dumbo both domestically and internationally. Dumbo made $55 million internationally in its opening weekend.

The numbers are in, Snow White finishes with $43 million at the weekend domestic box office and just $87.3 million globally. I doubt it will even earn back its budget.

quote:

Disney’s “Snow White” took a larger Friday-to-Saturday drop than expected and is now projected for a $43 million domestic opening weekend from 4,200 locations with a global launch of just $87 million..

That slide takes the film below pre-release estimates for a $45 million domestic and $100 million global start and doesn’t bode well for its chances to leg out to a theatrical profit against its $250 million-plus production budget.

While Disney did recently have a big comeback story with “Mufasa,” which opened to $35 million domestically and finished with $714 million worldwide, that movie had several weeks of holiday season play to take advantage of. “Snow White” could hypothetically leg out with families during the spring school breaks spread out between now and Easter weekend but will have to contend with competition from “A Minecraft Movie” in early April.

What’s more, reception scores aren’t as strong as “Mufasa,” earning a B+ on CinemaScore — the lowest logged for a Disney remake — and Rotten Tomatoes scores of 43% critics and 74% audience compared to 57% and 89% respectively for “Mufasa.” The only bright spot is that the film’s CinemaScore subsets include an A- among female moviegoers as well as kids and teens, the core demos that Disney will need to keep turning out to find any sort of staying power.

Calling a movie open 'sleepy', especially one that's a Disney movie, and the foundational piece of cinema stone that built the entire Disney empire is a staggering blow.

The fact that Mufasa broke even was a damn miracle. That film was just as trash as this one.

Took my family to watch this yesterday. It was....fine, I guess. Pretty forgettable movie but not as terrible as some are making it out to be. You can clearly tell this film had a ton of reshoots. Zegler saves it from being a total disaster. It's a shame she's basically nuked her own career because she is very talented. She has a great voice.

Her voice was the only redeeming quality according to snarkyjay.

She doesn’t look like Snow White, fail. Injects politics into a family movie, fail.

I saw a statistic that like 15% of the audience was kids

Dude, I wish that was the only problem. Hollywood in 2025 has numerous problems that run deep in the fabric of corporate studios and their inability to produce original, unique films. That is ultimately the real problem.

She’s Spielberg’s little princess. I guarantee you she won’t be going away.

What studio would want to put up with her? She can't even succeed with a huge IP like Snow White, what exactly would you need her for? I can't see her headlining any big films in the near future. She might be better off being a stage actor for a few years, then come back and give it a try again.

That's the question. She's largely responsible, although not entirely, for the bomb that is snow white. I've never been a fan of the Disney live action remakes and I've hoped they'd stop after a few bombs. Lilo and Stitch will probably make bank though and they will continue....

I have to kill a couple of hours this Saturday coming up and my two little are bugging me about it. I checked seating for yesterday’s matinee and there were only two seats reserved. Oof.
