That one was pretty good. I really can’t stand Shane Gillis. I don’t find him that funny. However, he has two of the best film clips of the last few years (see above). I was a long time defender of SNL while this whole board shite on it for years and years. But man, it is just so not funny. I can’t remember a single sketch I’ve seen in the last two or three years.

What they should have done for the 50th year is announce it would be the last year, and load up on huge stars and musical acts. Go out with a bang. I recognize maybe one out of every three or four music acts. There are often hosts I don’t recognize. Never frickin heard of em. I catch it on YT when I think about it now.

He phoned it in this past Saturday. He obviously no longer gives a shite about the live show, but they can still get him excited for the pre-recorded segments. Lorne will probably have him back though, since Gillis' monologue offended so many people. And while the monologue was controversial, it wasn't funny. He just walked through it like he was trying out new material.

Comedy frequently is, although I didn't find it so. I guess if people want to nit-pick and look for something offensive they'll find it.

Good observation. I got tired of his monologue and ffw through it.

He ended it with, "Well, that was the monologue.", since the audience didn't laugh at his last few jokes. You could tell he knew he'd bombed with that audience.

I’ve only seen him in Tires and that monologue. He’s not exactly PC and SNL is a PC audience.

I think the pre-recorded segments are all SNL has left. Those were pretty good but "The Bubble" is the last old school SNL edgy and funny thing they've actually done

Their commercial spoofs are usually pretty good.
I still remember the old "Colon Blow" cereal commercial.

ETA: Colon Blow Commercial
SNL-Colon Blow

AC guys are usually OK, but we had some roofers that were just like that, very ex-con trashy and weird.
