It’s absurd how infantile our society has become. You can go back and watch some of those clips on peacock too and they are not censored. Everyone knows that there is absolutely nothing wrong with Jimmy Fallon doing an impersonation of Chris Rock. He’s not doing a minstrel show, and no sane person would believe that. You know how I know? Because a blind person could tell that a minstrel show performance was meant to degrade. But there’s no way a blind person would be offended by what Jimmy Fallon did or Darrell Hammond as Jessie Jackson. When are we going to give up this charade? People like Chris Rock need to tell the public to chill out and just enjoy the show and that there is nothing wrong with it.

I don’t feel the same way as you about Keenan. No, I don’t think he’s some GOAT cast member. He’s more of a mid tier cast member to me. I never look forward to a Keenan sketch except for What’s Up With That.

Blurring out the faces makes it look worse, which is why they chose to use that for comedic effect.

The joke was that it got “worse and worse” until they got to Chevy saying the N word.

I won’t rule it out that It’s possible that they did it for comedic effect. But it just didn’t feel that way.

Sandler was the highlight. I didn't think he could top the Letterman send off he did in 2015, but this was epic. Just the right amount of humor and feels. And naturally he gave some of the biggest love to the writers and crew.

(I'm very curious what Sandler's criteria were for overt inclusion in the ditty.)

And of course it shows that even in 2025, the biggest ticket in town is a Beatle. Exactly, correctly Sir Paul was tasked with playing the show out. You could see those in the audience that understood the import of the moment, as they were openly weeping.

Somewhat surprised that Ringo wasn't there. And I'm still in utter disbelief that George Harrison WASN'T EVEN SHOWN in the 50th musical retrospective. At least Paul Simon mentioned him in the intro.

Overall a good effort and definitely tinged with a melancholy that wasn't there at 40. Plenty of people are going to die before the 60th show - very likely 2 Beatles + lots of others in that room. Father Time is an utter bitch.

As much as I love Paul, he’s lost it; voice is terrible.

For 82, his voice has held up amazingly well.

Dude can still put on a show. All hail the king.

A lot can be said for Miley but no talent isn't one of them.

Every time I see someone say MC is talentless or can't sing, I post this clip of her singing a Dylan song:

Anyone who says she can't sing is an idiot. She killed that.

Also remember how naturally pretty she was until she went off the deep end.

You should listen to her cover of Jolene(Dolly is her Godmother FWIW). It'll put chills on you.

Zero chance that is why they did that IMO.

I think that was itself a joke.

Or alternatively, the standards for broadcast TV are different now but streaming is usually not subjected to ratings/standards.

BTW, one of the blurred images was Fred Armisen as Prince, which he did as recently as Friday's live SNL concert. Armisen is Venezuelan/German/Korean, but played multiple black characters on SNL.

I like Keenan as a game show host. Keenan is a solid straight man in skits too.

Agree she sounds great there. I’d forgotten how good her voice is.

Certainly nothing wrong with his guitar playing.
