I was on this board a month after came out complaining about her and the movie and how I didn’t get it.

I watched it a second time and it clicked. It’s an annual watch for me now and my opinion, a masterpiece.

The border scene, the family dinner scene, the music, the tension. Perfecto

I've always made the argument that Sicario is really a horror movie. That opening scene is straight up horror, from the camera direction to the music to the reveal.

I’ve seen Benecios character be described as the angel of death/death personified in a similar way to Javier in NCFOM.

2nd one kind of ruins that tho

Yes this is not a movie that needed a sequel.

I remember when the trailer first dropped and Carson lol'd at the way Alejandro did the stylish gunplay and he was 100% right.

Symbolic of the movie. Adios to quality is right, Alenajdro

The second movie kind of had a legit premise that could ask similar questions, and it literally just drops it in the middle to focus on setting up a character-based trilogy with Alejandro...for....reasons?

I think you missed the point of the movie.

The convoy scene to Juarez

Knew I was watching a great movie in real time in the theater during that scene.

You're either trolling or an example of why every government agency is corrupt.

Yeah the scene at the border is the highest form of elite direction.

That whole piece, from the arrival at the air Force Base to the reaction after (not the interrogation), just tells you what you're about to watch

Parts of it definitely are.

One things for sure, movies with realistic weapons handling/tactics/etc (sicario and heat come to mind) are usually pretty good.

Will there ever be a 3rd Sicario? The final scene in 2 practically begs for one.

The previous rumor was that the original 3 would return for a third film.

I liked the sequel too and it worked with human smuggling background.

Yep. That was the director’s way of acknowledging that she was an uptight bitch and needed to blow off steam.

As per usual…you are wrong and I completely disagree with you.

Brolin and Alejandro are the definition of anti-hero. They absolutely are the good guys and are battling evil and what it is doing to our country. Now, do they go about it in a way that we as normal American citizens can justify morally…maybe not, but they are definitely fighting for the god guys.

They aren't even anti-heroes. Kate becomes a deconstruction of the anti-hero, actually.

They're only perceived as any level of "heroes" to people who see Sicario as an Arnold-level action movie.

You're trying to apply modernism to a movie that's beyond postmodern.

You know what happens in real life when "men like them" engage like in Sicario?

They become the cartel
