Should DC put Zack Snyder to pasture?

I was just thinking about how poorly his movies have done, and how JL is the one where fans were like, "You know... I'm not just going to give you my money because *insert random hero here* is in it"
I contrasted Snyder's films with the entirety of Marvel Phase 3:
Captain America: Civil War
** Reviews: 91% Critic - 89% Fan
** Box Office: $408M Domestic - $1153M Total
** Opening Weekend: $179,139,142
Doctor Strange
** 89% / 86%
** $232M / $677M
** $85,058,311
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
** 82% / 88%
** $389M / $863M
** $146,510,104
Spider-Man: Homecoming
** 92% / 88%
** $334M / $880M
** $117,027,503
Thor: Ragnarok
** (Currently) 92% / 88%
** (Currently) $247M / $739M
** $122,744,989
By contrast (Zack DC films):
Man of Steel (Directed)
** 55% / 75%
** $291M / $668M
** $116,619,362
Batman v Superman (Directed)
** 27% / 63%
** $440 M / $873M
** $166,007,347
Suicide Squad (Produced)
** 26% / 61%
** $325M / $745M
** $133,682,248
Justice League (Directed)
** (Currently) 40% / 84%
** (Currently) $93M / $278M
** $93,842,239
Justice League has the highest fan rating @ 84%, which puts it just below the least favored Marvel movie, Doctor Strange.
It's 40% rating puts it below Man of Steel, and less than half of the "worst" rated Marvel movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
The highest opening weekend, BvS, is #2, only 13 million behind Civil War - but finishes a whopping $280M behind Civil War worldwide (where audiences were less prone to engage in Batman vs Superman debates online, apparently)
Justice League's opening weekend would be next to last, only ahead of Doctor Strange.
DC's highest grossing movie worldwide under Snyder would be in 3rd place, and likely will fall behind Thor: Ragnarok
Basically, Snyder made one great artistic-styled action movies (300), followed it up with a movie with great visuals but slow pacing (Watchmen), another movie with great visuals but convoluted and confusing plot (Sucker Punch). His screenplay credits are Sucker Punch and 300: Rise of an Empire.
Zack Snyder is the equivalent of a guy getting a really good grade on his initial driving test and someone deciding he should be made the lead driver for a NASCAR team.

This is the most unnecessarily intricate troll thread in recent memory.
Good work.
Looking forward to your "Get Obama out of the White House" thread in the Poli Board.

This is like asking if NASDAQ should put Bernie Madoff to pasture.

I think Penn State should fire Sandusky, their defensive coordinator. Hot take!

He already has been put to pasture.

We all agree with you. There is consistent Zack Snyder bashing in every DC thread. To me, Suicide Squad is at the bottom of the movie barrel.

Exactly. What a stupid thread.
Zack Snyder is essentially done making huge movies. He might get a chance to make a few smaller budget action flicks but he's mostly done at the top.

frick no. One of the few natural joys in life is a beautiful green pasture.
Put Snyder out there and he'd suck all the color out of it and CGI the grass back in

Nah...we're an easy crowd in that 98% of the people here have come to this conclusion a while ago and have discussed it ad nauseam for about 18 months.

Zack Snyder as cut before JL was even finished. He gone.
I see that you didn't include WW in your Snyder films. He actually was a writer and producer on that film. Not that he deserves any credit for it's success, but he was.

While I agree that Snyder should go because the box office is small and hurting the chance for future DCEU films, who cares about the RT score? I personally care if whether or not I enjoyed it, not what snobby critics rate. There's plenty of "rotten" films that I enjoyed a lot and many "fresh" films that were boring and put me to sleep. How anyone takes RT seriously after they rated Ghostbusters 2016 as "fresh" is beyond me.

He was the person who cast Gal Gadot. I doubt that anyone else would've done that.

Zacks whole idea with WW was that she lost hope in humanity. They changed that during the filming after BvS. The line in BvS "100 years ago, I walked away from mankind." was Snyder and Terrio's idea. Jenkins (and whoever else) wanted to change that character flaw. So I would say that had Snyder had his say, Wonder Woman would have been a lot different.
So I would say that WW is successful despite Snyder. Yes he cast her and he's done a good job casting with the exception of Eisenberg (which was actually something Terrio was adamant about), but the character traits are more important than the casting. And Snyder failed miserably at that.
