IMO, Terrio is equally responsible for the failure of the DCEU. MOS was polarizing, but it was coherent for the most part. A lot of the bad story decisions in BvS were Terrio's idea. Eisenberg's Luthor, Martha. But BvS had the combination of bad writing and a polarizing concept (mainly regarding Superman). It was a failure from the get go.

I don't think that's accurate. I remember an interview where Snyder said he was so impressed with Eisenberg, that he completely changed the character of Luthor.

No doubt that Snyder liked the idea, but the story is that Terrio heard Eisenberg rehearsing with Amy Adams when he was cast as Jimmy Olsen and wanted to write him as a villain. Terrio wanted to give Luthor an "indie" feel.
I'm sure it was a collaborative effort, but Terrio was digging Eisenberg and wanted to write for him.:

He has a back story that’s tragic and an emotional inner life that’s authentic. That’s in the movie. It was my interest in playing the character with a real emotional core, and this writer, Chris Terrio’s interest in creating a character that seemed viable in reality… To call him self-aggrandizing is to say that the Titanic was a sailboat. He is a narcissist of the first order but complicated in that way as well in that he is terribly troubled and competitive and vengeful. He looks at Superman not as somebody to destroy but as genuine threat to humanity.

The movie’s writer, Chris Terrio, who’s absolutely brilliant, created a totally fresh take on this movie villain, writing a role that seems like somebody you might know who is troubled, who is charismatic but also disturbed, and that’s what made it so interesting for me as an actor.

Zack Snyder is the equivalent of a guy getting a really good grade on his initial driving test and someone deciding he should be made the lead driver for a NASCAR team.
Good analogy but if you want to debase it further, Zack Snyder is like that 13 year old who may have done a decent job driving in an empty parking lot under close and personal adult supervision and now they turn him loose driving alone on actual roadways and even the interstate.

frick no. One of the few natural joys in life is a beautiful green pasture.
Put Snyder out there and he'd suck all the color out of it and CGI the grass back in
I can imagine that playing out like this with Michael Bay and the titanic.

While I agree that Snyder should go because the box office is small and hurting the chance for future DCEU films, who cares about the RT score? I personally care if whether or not I enjoyed it, not what snobby critics rate. There's plenty of "rotten" films that I enjoyed a lot and many "fresh" films that were boring and put me to sleep. How anyone takes RT seriously after they rated Ghostbusters 2016 as "fresh" is beyond me.
Eh, it plays a part. More like the fans won't just assume that the movies are worth watching anymore despite bad ratings.

The DECU likes to think of its movies as adult-oriented, yet they hired a director with the sensibilities of a sexually frustrated adolescent boy to be the director. That sort of tonal issue derails the whole thing. He's a child who mistakes being dark and edgy for being adult. Also, multiple points of view might be a good thing, which is why Wonder Woman was a success, as it was directed by a woman and had a strong female point of view.
The DECU could use a palette cleanser. You're already committed to Aquaman, and you'd be stupid not to do WW2, but how about instead of trying to go grimdark or badly ape the MCU formula, why not do something different?
Make Animal Man. Do a Swamp Thing movie based on the great Alan Moore run. Or make a movie from Harley Quinn's point of view, you know, after she dumps the Joker, and gets in a more healthy relationship with Poison Ivy. Or do the Batgirl of Burnside, in the vein of a feature length Veronica Mars movie. Make something interesting, weird, but also derived from the source material.
