I watched Cafe Society about two weeks ago. Charming little movie if not a little dull at parts.

Did the women come forward and accuse him of harassment? I googled and all I could find was an article with his ex-wife calling him a "serial cheater".

IIRC, it was all about his wife calling him out for being a womanizer while he was wrapping himself in the feminist flag. That's all that it took for some people to grab the torch and pitchfork.

Well that's just dumb. Is there any "witness" less credible than an ex-spouse?

He was dumb enough to admit to some of it in a letter to her as they were breaking up. Why a guy would put that in writing is beyond me.

Woody Allen is a text book case of don't stick your dick in crazy. Did he do that? I dunno. The cops cleared him. His not kid clears him. Farrow and her daughter have been the only ones to consistently say he did while her middle child has swayed back and forth.

Ironically Soon Yi and Allen only got together because Farrow hated they were so standoffish and distant that she made them hang out together. She was also over 18 by the late 80s when their relationship started. So woman scorned, her adult daughter betrayed her, her decade long lover betrayed her and it murks up the water even more of did he or not.

Roman Polanski on the other hand was caught red handed and hollywood should be ashamed of any effort to side with him.

THANK YOU. I tell some people that I saw Woody Allen's Annie Hall and want to see his Crimes and Misdemeanors and they get disgusted at me. His films have been a staple in Hollywood for years. I try to keep the "art away from the artist" and enjoy them as films. Put someone else in the director's chair and no one would bat an eye. Put Woody Allen in the director's chair and everyone loses their minds.

My opinion, just enjoy watching Hollywood burn. They’re going down and they are no longer capable of looking down from their high moral perch when this has been going on all this time.

And this has been going on for a long long time.

They phrased it as "Casting couch" to sound cute and make it look consenual.

Apparently Kirk Douglas invited a 15 year old Natalie Wood to his hotel room to discuss a movie role and then brutally raped her.

But her mother, who pimped her out around town for fame, refused to say anything or press charges for fear her gravy train daughter wouldn't get anymore roles.

Then years later she apparently told one of Elvis' entourage while she was at their hotel..."doesn't Elvis want me, I'm the best screw in Hollywood"...and this guy says, she screwed him and then went into Elvis' bedroom and tried to screw him but Elvis didn't want to.

That's how messed up she was by then from being a child star and Hollywood. Her mother was really a piece of work. She would tell Natalie when she was a child to go sit on a Producers lap to get a role. Her Mom knew the game and basically pimped her daughter out for fame. (allegedly)

while you are at it, some other artists to boycott:

Roman Polanski
Richard Wagner
Chuck Berry
All gangsta rappers
Charlie Chaplin

See how that works? Learn to separate the artist from the art.

boycotting a film because of the director or actor ignores the other 100 to 1000 people that worked hard to make the actual film during physical production. Carpenters, costumers, camera, crafty and on and on.

They shouldn't be punished for the indiscretions of people in power.
