I like the cast so far especially Elizabeth Perkins who y'all know from Weeds. It's going to be a dark show and I left wondering how much $$$ HBO forked out for these Led Zeppelin songs

The book is great. Have no expectations of this because I was unaware it was even being made. Hopefully it is pretty good and doesn’t mess with the book.

I liked it. Was that “ vanished”scar she had on her arm something she cut herself—she was wearing long-sleeves the whole time, I think. Or was it not really there?

Also, anybody notice the ghost sister sitting on the couch after mom left Camille’s room?

Definitely like it, as well. Starting off slow but it has me intrigued. Camille is all sorts of fricked up.

What was the deal with that shack she stumbled on in the woods when she was younger? And she flicking her bean thinking about it?

Just finished. Really enjoyed it. Gonna be absolutely mental.

ETA: I noticed the person on the bench and early on when she looked in the mirror and saw someone else looking back. Creeped me the eff out. Oh, and the Amma scene toward the end.

I read the book when I got really into Gone Girl. Gillian Flynn has great ideas, but it is an absolute chore getting through her books. Gone Girl was her best one. Describes everything with these terrible run on sentences. I have a feeling that HBO will clean the story up into a great series.

What was up with the dream sequence in the beginning where the girl was shoving a needle into her hand while she was sleeping? That weirded me out a bit.

She had scars all over if you knew to look for that.

I think Episode 1 did a really good job of providing a background for the show based on the book.

-Lots of Led Zeppelin songs

-Lots of underarm sweating

-Lots of fans everywhere.

ETA: Also caught my attention how the childhood version has very short-cropped hair and the adult has overly long hair. Not sure if that's just a metaphor but really stood out to me.

IDK if this is a metaphor for something. But E1 had a number of flashbacks are imagines that may conitune in the series:

When Camille is leaving STL for Wing Gaps. A slash is seen on the truck of her car. Then in another scene the word "DIRT" is written in the same spot.

The dollhouse has the word "GIRL" written on one of paintings.

The word "WRONG" appears on her headset when she's sitting outside of the bar. In the next scene it says "AUX"

In the last scene of E1, Camille has a ton of words scratched into her skin. Words like 'fraud', 'rude'/'nude', 'balls', 'allow', 'inquiry', 'definite', and 'entice'.

Also, Adora seems to have an obsession with picking her eye lashes. Which definitely gives me the vibe that she has a implusive control disorder or trichotillomania
