Never liked Tobey Maguire but he was perfect for that role

I never tear up at movies, for some reason I do watching this one. Bridges second best performance in his career.

Very enjoyable movie with many memorable and warm scenes. One of those movies you can watch from any point again and watch for a while to pass the time. And that’s saying a lot.
Especially the race against War Admiral scene: “So long, Charlie.”
(Just saw it again, fixed quote.)

I’ve never seen it, but I should check it out.
The only thing I know about that movie is that Maguire was nearly recast for Spider-Man 2 because he severely injured his back on the set of Seabiscuit. I think they had Jake Gyllenhaal set to go if Maguire couldn’t recover.

Did a great job recreating the match race. The match race is cool to watch on YouTube also

The guys been acting for 7 decades and has a unbelievable catalog of work.
He was a great in Seabiscuit but he's been great for years in almost every role he plays.

Love the movie but rewatching it is sort of like a Ken Burns doc full of history lessons, not something you throw on in the background while making game day chili.
