Or is it all a magician's dream?

I was disappointed in the movie. I felt like I was waiting for something to happen the entire movie even though there was something going on if that makes sense. I don't think it was bad it just wasn't what I was expecting.

i enjoyed the movie, but i went in with low expectations. the 2 wicked witches wouldve been better cast if they switched imo. the monkey and the china doll were the 2 best characters in the movie. i picked up on the john gale part and wondered if they were insinuating that he as dorothy's father.

Sorry, but this movie was fricking terrible. I'm still in shock and awe how much they fricked up the Wicked Witch of the West.

same, she din't have the right look as the ugly witch.

Also if people aren't as he imagines them to be (a la Wizard of Oz) then why did he see Glinda before he went to OZ?

I went into the movie expecting to see a modern Hollywood take on the events preceding Dorothy's trip to Oz.

The plot holes are fun to talk about, but they did not detract from my experience. It was a truly great family film.

It didn't mesh with the other 2 movies, because this one was not from the imagination of Frank Baum

What you're describing is not a plot hole although there are several

I liked it too. My daughter said it was "awesome" haha. For me it was at least visually pretty awesome. Franco is a favorite whipping boy of critics but I thought he was very good. Agree Mila was surprisingly the weakest cast witch.

Arent they making a sequel to this prequel (that still takes place before the original)?

That could explain plot holes or anything like

It is not a plot hole in OtGaP, it creates this as a plot hole in WoO

like. . .how does Dorothy meet up with the wizard in Kansas before the storm?

He clearly tells her at the end that he had been trying to get back since he got to Oz. . .and had been unsuccessful.

It will cause more problems than it will solve.

I would love to see a book adaptation of the Wizard of Oz. Complete with the Tin Man and Scarecrow massacring shite.

So is the wizard also the door guard and the gate guard

This thread makes it seem like you have zero imagination

The distinction is clear in the movie.

Yes, all part of his charade

The wizard is the guy she met in Kansas.

Just like the witch, lion, scarecrow, and tin man.

As far as plot holes for me the biggest ones centered around Glinda who is now the witch of the south, looks completely different, is banging the wiz, etc...her stupid bubble thing works differently and then as kind of a huge fu we find out it is "for show"

In the movie the poppy fields ser now a staple of the landscape when in woz it seemed like the witch created them to stop them from reaching the emerald city

Someone will bring up the books but this movie is clearly drawing from the 1939 film
