Married to Jessica Lange for a long time. I thought he was looking a little rougher than usual on Bloodline, but damn.

I watched this again the other night. I thought they should have done more with Frank/Sam Shepard in the movie.

Great actor and writer. He will be missed.

Damn. Sam Shepard was a mainstay. I don't want to go all psycho-analytical here, but I think he nailed some kind of unique American masculine ideal. Men kind of admired the cool, literate demeanor-the guy who doesn't try too hard. Like maybe sort of a less macho Eastwood who had the same kind of quiet integrity on screen. A cerebral and harmonious Alpha male. He had a great career.

RIP.

Always been a fan of Shepard, and have recently become a huge fan of Jeff Nichols and his movies. Sam Shepard was fantastic in those.
