End of Friday Night Lights after the ring scene with McGraw and Billingsly when it shows all the guys back at the school and Coach Gaines is putting up next year's depth chart. It shows the guys accepting it's over and that life goes on. The pass Winchell throws to the kids at the end also.

The Plauge Dogs tore me up as a kid. Cartoon movie about dogs that escape from a medical testing facility and at then tracked by the government. Opens with one of them being repeatedly drowned and resuscitated. The movie has a lot of them starving and not finding food. They kill two mumans and eat one of the bodies. It ends with them swimming out presumably to their deaths. I have no idea why this was shown to an elementary school class.

not a movie, but Jurassic Bark crushes me. i'll never forgive Futurama for making that episode.

One of the few episodes I've seen. Thinking about it gives me a lump in my throat.

The Cure. Came out around 1995. Still have never forgiven my buddy for making me watch it.

Not the saddest, but the one that pisses me off the most is Blackhawk Down.

Maybe not the saddest, but the ending of "Big Fish", when the father asks the son to narrate how his life ends. Add that soundtrack and it gets me every time

The story of my life

Not sure if mentioned, but Bridge to Terabethia is up there for me. I watched it without knowing anything about it.

Simon Birch was tough at the end.

I haven't noticed "I Am Sam" mentioned yet. I watched this movie in the theatre of an Alaska Marine Highway ferry traveling between Haines and Juneau. It was bad enough that I started crying at the end, but then I had see the other people from the theatre for the rest of the trip.

Just saw "My All America" a few days ago. It was about a guy I'd never heard of named Freddie Joe Steinmark. Not the saddest ever, but pretty fricking bad. It was kind of a "Rudy" type football movie, but without the happy ending.

Under appreciated movie IMO. Sandler actually does a damn good job as well.

I agree. But it's about as rewatchable as Passion of the Christ though.

You could devalue a live action movie saying, "Well, it's just actors playing characters. It's not real"

Admittedly I'm a big fan of animated films/anime.

Well yeah, but it's a lot easier to sympathize with a human than it is a drawing.

I'll take a slightly different approach: a movie that was a great joy to watch, even laugh out loud funny several times, but left me feeling nothing but melancholy at the end: Fandango.

Great, great movie about promises and friendship and that deep pain you feel in your gut when you know that the small group of people with whom you've shared nearly every important moment of all of your last four years are never going to see one another again.

When Dorman tells Hicks "Have a nice life" is the point where it gets me in the feels. Truly a great film.

Jimmy Stewart's character wanted to stay out of it but the war overwhelmed his family and killed most of them.

I tore my ACL my senior year of HS. When Boobie leaves his last Doctors appt and gets into the car with his uncle, probably the one movie scene of all time that made me lose it completely.

Also:
Life is Beautiful
Simon Birch
GI:Joe Rise of Cobra- ruined my favorite childhood cartoon
GI: Joe Retaliation- killed Duke in the first 10 minutes....then just made a Rock action movie
