This decision is basically choosing a a long slow death vs a much quicker one.

Still one too many.

The quality of the idea has no relevance anymore.

They need "content"

No, it isn't

Nobody is going to choose a streaming service nowadays because of it's movie library; if I want to watch Star Wars over and over I will buy the discs.
Same thing with MCU.

The reason adults have Disney+ is to watch "premium tv series", in Disney's case that's the Star Wars and MCU shows.
Same dynamic applies to Max, you're wanting something along the lines of Game of Thrones (HOTD currently).
If you're going to drop that, subscribers are going to quit their services.

Prime is a bit more immune to that, because of Amazon's shipping and other services... you get a TV series almost as an extra.

I'm not saying all the SW and MCU shows have been good, but Disney needs to keep them coming if they want to keep those subscriptions.

Yeah, and millions of people aren't keeping their subscriptions for X-men 97.

The only way the streaming model works is to constantly release new content, or else people will sub 2 months a year to catch up with everything new and then drop it.

Disney having the espn+ bundle helps them combat this somewhat with sports.

no, it's both.

It started with HBO, you started perceiving a difference between "regular" series, and "premium". At this point it's really evident- almost every decent series is on a streaming service. CBS pulled SEALS off network/OTA and moved it to Paramount+ using that exact reasoning. If you don't pay for a streaming service, you're stuck with "reality drama mama" shows, and old stuff on Pluto/Tubi/Roku Channel.

The “new content” and the people they hire to to constantly release it is the problem here

No one will ever care as much about the next Star Wars anything the way that people cared about the first two trilogies. If they pump the brakes now, I see it as a temporary measure until they realize that they have to put out tons of crap to keep the diminished audiences watching for the same amount of total time.

are you guys boomers?

You can find all this stuff free on the internet. wait 1-2 after the stream on Disney+ and you'll find it in great quality.
lol buy a disc?

I'm more than happy to pay for anything that is quality. But F paying anything that is Disney related until they get their shite together and stop being woke. (I did go see Deadpool & Wolverine)

Most of these media companies are putting out woke shite so I'll let the wokes and the trannies support them with their money.

Doesn’t this come out every few months or so now? I keep seeing all this shite about how Disney is rolling back a very over saturated Star Wars and Marvel content arena, only for it to never actually happen.

not sure.

I mean, it takes time for things to roll out or stop rolling out.
If they've already made a show they will still likely put it out (unless it's that bad).
Maybe they have a few that are so far in production and have already spent a lot of money on they'll put it out.

We wouldn’t have had The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and Bad Batch so I’ll take the trade off. No skin off my back

I just want some in depth SW that doesn't play Six Degrees of Anakin Skywalker.

KOTOR-era Game of Thrones or bust.
