But it's not just Aquaman that did well with humor.

Wonder Woman was an above average comic book film and I have yet to see Shazaam.

Hell, even the Nolan Batman movies had some pretty funny moments.

This is true, but the scene you posted happened completely by accident. Nolan kept the cameras rolling because Ledger continued to stay in character.

yeah. the explosion wasn't supposed to malfunction or be delayed like that. when it didn't go as planned, Ledger went with it.

This happens in Marvel films as well, especially when Favreau is involved. The entire Iron Man identity reveal in the first film was due to RDJ adlibbing "I am Iron Man."

It happens in many movies across multiple genres. My point is, the MCU goes out of its way to insert gags and comic relief, whereas DC tends to be a little more serious/darker. Or at least they were until the failure of Batman v. Superman.

The point though is that humor can work just fine in a DC movie. It has nothing to do with the properties and everything to do with the writing and direction. It doesn't matter if the joke was originally scripted or not. There are plenty of dark serious movies that also have very funny moments. For example, Goodfellas is hilarious but it's not exactly a comedy. It probably wouldn't be very funny if it was directed by Snyder though as he would be paying way too much attention to things like how Joe Pesci was stabbing somebody to death.

Inevitably will be a train wreck. Snyder is not a good filmmaker

And it will all be worth it to see Uxas in the history lesson.

Hilarious that people now think of DC as the serious home for heroes and Marvel as the fun option.

"Serious" fans gave DC shite for being the goofy comic company, with Silver Age covers featuring talking gorillas and super-fat characters. Marvel was seen as the comic line for older teens and college kids, with covers showing characters beating the crap out of each other.

How long could it end up being, if people are considering a mini series for it..6 hours? 7? Did Snyder shoot that much?

I've read on some of the other comic book movie sites that the Snyder cut is 3 1\2 hours long

The current fantasy, hope and rumors are that Snyder himself will announce the Snyder Cut Release on HBO Max during his watch party for Man of Steel on his Vero Account later today.

The movie currently stands at 214 minutes and will be broken up into a miniseries.

There is further speculation that Jason Momoa and Ray Fisher will be apart of the event.

The DCEU has been shite all around, but Shazam has easily been the best and most entertaining. Zach Levi always kills it.

WW is the only other DCEU product worth watching.

How about Ben Affleck? Or is his Batman career just dead in the water?

Nothing substantial has been floating around about Henry, Ben, Gal or Ezra.

To be fair though, Jason and Ray have been the biggest cheerleaders.

I wish that Justice League would be allowed to finish.

I'm a huge Frank Miller fan so I love Ben's portrayal.

That and we got a glimmer of Carrie Kelley in the nightmare sequence in B v S.

Is the story all different?

That's the rumor.

Granted I don't know shite about movies, but it blows my mind a movie could be so dramatically changed by different cuts.

Like don't they have to have a plan and some sort of path for how all this thing goes? Then I read all the time about how "the movie was found in the editing room". How the f does that even happen!??!

Joss Whedon was asked by the studio to trim the movie to 2 hours and make it a stand alone film.

Whedon rewrote over 80 pages of Snyder's script which resulted in the massive amount of reshoots.

Also to mention that Whedon canned composer Junkie XL, who worked with Zimmer on B v S, and brought back Danny Elfman.

Whedon's bastardization of Batman is criminal.
