I'm glad most of the folks who continued to insist it didn't exist & wouldn't be released are finally coming to realize that (a) yeah, it does, & (b) yeah, it is.

Yeah. Okay. That line resulted in a deafening record scratch in my brain.

But honestly, using this "Bigfoot Captured" level event to push the new HBO Max streaming service is a slam-dunk.

You'll have people ranging from Snyder fans to train wreck gawkers clicking in to see what's what.

Can someone please help me figure out how this will be any better than the train wreck that was Justice league?

Is the story all different?
Less weird superman face cgi?

It might turn out worse. It's definitely a huge gamble for WB. Zack's cut is apparently a lot darker than what we got.

That's the rumor.

Yes. The only reason we got face CGI is because they had to bring back Henry Cavill for the re-shoots and the producers of Mission: Impossible wouldn't let him shave his beard.

At the end of the day there will at least be continuity between the Synder-directed films. Justice League definitely felt different from Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman.

It'll be more of a "what if" or a study of an aborted concept, unless they change it up and edit in a new ending.

It was supposed to serve as a set-up for Justice League 2.

I think it will be more of the former than the latter. I have no doubt it will be comparable in quality to most of Zack Snyder's other movies (between average and mediocre) but at least there will be closure.

It might be worse, but it might be better. The awkward comedy from Whedon, awful CGI Superman mouth, and bombastic circus, big-top score score from Elfman wouldn't be hard to improve. I would just like to see a cohesive tone and finish to what Snyder was doing.

Supposedly Snyder's cut is 3 and 1/2 hours long(Whedon cut was right under 2hrs), with many different unseen characters (young Darkseid, Vulko, Martian Manhunter, Black suit Superman) and storylines. It couldn't be much worse tbh.

I bet this is really only happening b/c COVID is kicking the shite out of all the movie studios' earnings reports and the Snyder cut probably something easy to release since the main thing needed to be done are some VFX touch ups.

But this part

That's 100% some silly PR talk. Remember when there were insider reports than Batman vs Superman got a standing ovation from WB execs when they saw the final cut? This is the same thing.

Mandalorian was planned out properly to be shot and edited as a full series. Cutting up the Snyder cut into a mini series is like when New Line/WB forced Peter Jackson to extend The Hobbit into 3 movies to try and milk the franchise.

I will say it would be kind of cool if it does end up being decent enough for WB create multiple universes where Snyder Verse can be it's own thing while Shazam is used to have a lighter more All Star Superman-esque universe.

Iris West has a fairly large scene with Barry. Billy Crudup shot at least two scenes as Barry's imprisoned father. I don't know about Martian Manhunter, but there should be a ton of completely new scenes.

The meaning is that it will serve the purpose of The Mandelorian. A new drama series to serve as the main new content for a streaming service. I doubt that anyone is assuming that the two series will be on the same entertainment level.

But it's an extremely poorly written tweet for sure.

If there's any truth to this, hopefully they bring in Snyder to do the edits. His director's cut of Watchmen was a vast improvement over what the studio put in the theaters.
