Perfect scene. The only real issue I had with the movie was James Earl Jones as the voice of Vader. His voice has just aged so much. I'm sure there are plenty of voice actors that can replicate JEJ's voice. I mean, only if they include Vader in the other spin offs.

It was the absolute best Vader action we've seen. I want more of that.

Meh, it was mediocre, the character development was awful. I couldn't have cared less that they all died. It had entertainment value though.

The lead girl was good. I cared about her enough to google her after the movie.

Nope, rather enjoyed it, all of it. Looking forwards to seeing it again.

I liked it. But since it featured almost no Jedi fighting, i didn't love it. Just a personal thing since I love the Force stuff.

I'm on the other side of the fence with that. Growing up with the original trilogy, it seemed that the Star Wars universe was huge and full of amazing things.

Luke's personal journey with the Force was integral to the storyline, but it wasn't my favorite parts as an imaginative kid. I loved the spaceships and the aliens, and stuff like that...
I wouldn't mind something set within the same universe, but outside the political boundaries entirely, something like Firefly. That universe is big enough for that.

Slow first half but overall enjoyed it a lot more than TFA. Restored some confidence in the new SW canon, however barring a serious 180 for Episode 8 I'll keep treating legends as the real Star Wars.

Vader seemed off to me in general. The voice was screwy, the helmet was weird, and even the last scene was just kind of cheesy. I get what they were trying to do, everyone's wanted to see him go mental, his movements were just.. different. Almost over acted, physically. Won't even get in to the terrible pun.

I thought it was decent when I saw it. Worth paying for once, but not twice.

4th best SW movie IMO

I need to see it again. I enjoyed it thoroughly especially seeing it with my kids.

Empire
New Hope
Rogue One
Return of Jedi
TFA

I won't discuss the other 3 that no one should speak of.

I still think its a very good Star Wars film. As a big Star wars fan I really enjoyed seeing the Empire operate on a planetary level. The only thing I can remember that really bugged me was the mind reading squid and some over acting by Forest Whitaker..But the last 30 minutes were fantastic.

I can agree. I wish they had not shown the longer scene with Orson crying that Tarkin was taking credit for his weapon. Vader spoke too much.

Definitely. He was too slow for what he was doing, but I figured Disney had to have some continuity for the much slower duel he has with Obi Wan in A New Hope and to keep the violence down for kiddos. I actually sped the gif up on the first page 150% bc it made it much more of an awe shitttt moment

I liked it more than just about any other Star Wars movie, save Empire. And I think that's because it doesn't really play like a Star Wars movie. It's like they dropped an indie film in the middle of this blockbuster universe.

I'm a sucker for surrogate families, so I liked the cobbled together crew of Rogue One and how they bonded over, essentially, having no one else. It played well for me, and most importantly, this was the first Star Wars film that was not a soap opera about the squabbles of the Skywalker family. It showed the "real world" consequences of everyone else's high minded ideals. While Luke gets to play hero and hang out in crystal palaces in which everyone gets a medal but the Wookie (still bullshite!), Jin gets rewarded by having the last vestiges of her family murdered, betrayed by the rebellion and each of its factions, and eventually burned alive in the equivalent of a nuclear holocaust.

It added depth to the world buy making the fairy tale good guys a little more real, and by treating their own allies as disposable.

The Rebel Alliance fought out of desperation through much of the original trilogy. They wanted to win, but didn't expect to.

Rogue One knew that the Scarif Mission was a suicide mission.

Even the squadrons going against the Death Star knew it was a suicide mission, hoping against hope that they could buy enough time for ONE fighter to sneak a proton torpedo into the reactor. How many ships fought in the Battle of Yavin? TWO survived (Wedge and Luke's X-Wings).

The Battle of Endor was different because they saw an opportunity to take out the Emperor and threw the entire fleet at the second Death Star.
