With a hidey lidey lidey and a hidey lidey lay
We work and we make cigarettes all hidey lidey day
So folks can get a breaky from their stressful lidey lives
And relaxy with the cigarettes we make all day and night
I like to have a cigarette every now and then
It makes me feel calmer when the day is at an end.
And if it gives me cancer when I'm eighty I don't care
Who the hell wants to be ninety anyway?
So with a hidey lidey lidey and a hidey lidey lay
We work and we make cigarettes all hidey lidey day
So folks can get a breaky from their stressful lidey lives
And relaxy with the cigarettes we make all day and night
never forget RIta Poon

After Rob Reiner screened Stand by Me (1986) for Stephen King, he noticed that King was visibly shaking and wasn’t speaking.
Stephen King left the room, then returned and told Rob Reiner it was the best adaptation of his work he had ever seen. RIP Rob Reiner.

You learn very quickly with addicts that you can’t do that or they will absolutely take you for all you have when in their addiction.
All true. No matter how much you do, it's never enough in the end.
The only way most addicts get help to get better is to crash to rock bottom first, and furnishing housing for them is only enabling them to continue that destructive path.
My soon to be 41 yr. old stepson is a heroin addict and there is no reasoning with him about his addiction. He actually went as far as to describe his heroin habit to the prescription drugs the wife and I take for cholesterol and hypertension claiming it is "his medicine". That's how delusional his thinking is when Class A Felony Drugs are his medicine.

Drugs, I get. But how does the son of a rich Hollywood type (remember he owns a big piece of Seinfeld along with his hit movies) ever become homeless?
Reiner was likely doing tough love, which sadly is also likely why the kid killed him.
I'm not going to comment on the man personally. I am thankful to him for:
Spinal Tap
Princess Bride
Stand By Me
Misery
When Harry Met Sally
The Sure Thing
A Few Good Men
and others, but those are the highlights for me. I think Stand By Me is his best film.
I would say the Princess Bride or maybe Misery
Terrible loss.
Around 20 years ago my parents lost a very good friend. He was killed by his adult son. The son was bipolar or schizophrenic and had to be institutionalized afterwards. The father was killed trying to intervene and settle down the son when he was in an episode.
That kind of loss never heals fully. You do the best you can to remember the loved ones and the murderer as a family member but it is an unspeakably devastating event when a child kills a parent.

Add to that his forcing the network to accept Seinfeld is up there with legends like Lucille Ball overriding her studio to put Star Trek on the air.

I am surprised the son didn’t take his own life after this.

It's sad how little it took for this to turn into a "complain about Rob Reiner" thread after his death.
All I know is that he gave us a lot of great movies, including The Princess Bride, which is and always will be one of my all-time favorites.

Picking a "best" film out of that is really, really damned hard.
My personal favorite is Princess Bride, but A Few Good Men is another one I can rewatch over and over again.

I freely admit I'm not always up to date on things like that... but I'm 4 pages deep on Google and find no accusations of Rob Reiber being a pedophile.
So what is the source of your accusation?

i'm not accusing him of anything. I'm just saying if people are shitting on him that's their right. I asked a question

Like the people that are comparing Reiner to Polanski, or those fabricating allegations of Reiner celebrating the death of Kirk, they just want to piss on his grave and give others a rationalization to do the same.

Not an accusation, just asking questions.

That said, it was sad to see him get so consumed with his hatred
He wasn't. It's just the right wing nut jobs like you who think not liking someone's politics means they're consumed with hatred.
If he was 'consumed by hatred', would he have said what he did when CK got shot?
Just go away.

You’re trolling, I know. You & your boyfriend joined your super friends powers to upvote & add a feigned appearance of legitimacy?
Rob admitted to checking himself into a clinic to get over Trump winning.
Again.
That was textbook “consumed”.

Unless it is as bad as Pearl Harbor, it isn't a national tragedy
Losing one of the great all time American movie makers in cinema history to a brutal murder isn't a national tragedy, because he said mean things about GAWD EMPERAH TRUMP!
I say again. . .k.
