Report: Millie Bobby Brown in talks to play Princess Leia in future Star Wars projects

The Disney executives know just how much of an icon she is already for the 10 to 30-year-old audience and what that brings in terms of appeal. She could easily take home $15m for a first film or series. And she doesn't need to audition – it's more a case of how the director and her bond. She has the gravitas to hold down the lead for that universe."

Man, only Kathleen would think that everyone wants to see more Leia. The star wars fanbase is not and will never be little girls, no matter how much Kathleen or her fembot buddies insert themselves into the stories. These people even openly flaunt the fact that they don't even know anything about OG star wars stories/content...you know the stuff that made it a global phenomena.
Star wars was carried by white nerdy males, still is, and will never appeal to any other audience to the same degree without completely changing the source material thereby completely nullifying the "star wars" moniker.
That doesn't mean they have to feature white males, but making every single story about females has become tiresome. It's not working out for them.
And by female-centric I mean radical feminist fan-fiction with a star wars title. Usually seen in the form of a pathetic emasculated male being led by an overly-aggressive masculine female.

Am I the only one that thinks she’s a pretty shitty actress anyway? I don’t want this, not because of anything Star Wars related, but moreso because I don’t care to see MBB in anything.

With it being disney surprised they dont have her as the New Luke instead of a Leia. I mean having a straight white guy in a leading role is so yesterday.

I don't know - her guest starring role on NCIS, she played a very convincing Sociopath, and at an age you would think she would have difficulty pulling it off - but man she was good.
i think she, like many others, is good if the material is good. the truly great actors rise about shitty writing to make it good. can she do that? no clue, maybe down the road - but she is by far not a Shitty actress

If all you have seen her in is Stranger Things then yeah, I think you'd be in the minority. Her character is supposed to be shy and awkward and wooden because she was kept in a laboratory for most of her life. She's still developing social skills. She was very charismatic and charming in Enola Holmes and fairly solid in those two Godzilla movies she was in. No one is saying she's the next Meryl Streep but the girl is a pretty good actor from what I've seen.

I dont see anywhere in that article where she is in talks to play Leia. The author just based some speculation at the very end off a comment MBB made in 2016. Not that I would put it past Kennedy, but let's not get the torches out yet.

Because they’re too afraid to start something new. They would rather rely on nostalgia over old characters. They’ll probably try to incorporate Palatine or another relative of his again too
