There is absolutely a double standard, and the idiots trashing Rosanne as if she was a legit racist were being just as intellectually dishonest as those trashing Gunn as if he's a legit pedo. Both say/said idiotic things on Twitter and gave people who dislike them ammo to go after them.
The double standard is in how they were ultimately dealt with and handled...and you're right there I think. Neither, if we're being honest though, are when their detractors suggested they were.

I have not stated that Pistol the Pedo has any accusers. I am stating that his claim that he was only joking was a cover. Do I think he was actually admitting to the world and detailing his predatory adventures? No. I do think he was consistently expressing his desires, and I do think he was not joking as he claims he was.
I love the "he did this a decade ago" argument as if that means he shouldn't be held accountable for his actions. Was he 12 then? Oh wait, he was 42! So a 42yo grown man can promote sexual abuse of children and it's ok as long as he turns 52?
And no, I never did shite like this a decade ago or at any point in my life. Context is everything as well as content. We all have done shite we regret, but the severity of the actions must be weighed as well.
Legally? No. But absolutely people should be held accountable for things they say. Everything is situational. In this case a grown man promoting sexual abuse of children should not be any where near a franchise that is directed towards children. I don't give a shite if BangBrothers wants to hire him to make movies, but it's pretty bad that Disney does. That's some sweet irony right there.
