I don't get why people don't like that one. I was gripped from the start.

Finally got around to watching this. Loved it. Some episodes are really good, but even the ones that aren’t are thought provoking at the very least.
My favorites would be:
1. White Christmas, far and away my favorite. Loved everything about it.
2. Playtest
3. Shut Up and Dance
4. Be Right Back
5. Men Against Fire

Keeping on with my own little theme here I rewatched San Junipero yesterday. Obviously a fan favorite, a few thoughts (SPOILERS):
-One thing I caught that would be impossible to really catch on a first viewing is in the first few minutes when Yorkie is in the arcade for the first time. The dorky guy asks her if she wants to play a racing game and it shows a car careen off the road and crash adn she noticably winces...thought that was kinda cool knowing that that's how she ended up paralyzed IRL. Also a little allusion to when kelly does the same thing towards the end
-Do we have any idea how big this landscape actually is? In the 80s time period for instance, we know there's the yuppie bar and the crazy psycho bar...when you transport to SJ are those your only 2 options? Also when you have relations in SJ, is your IRL body getting a boner? Seems like that would be kinda awkward for the nurses in the home attending to you on your trip.
-I said it the first time and will say it again, there is absolutely no reason for it to be a lesbian storyline. I'm not necessarily OPPOSED to it, it certainly doesn't hurt the story, it's just entirely unnecessary. It adds nothing of value to the story that couldnt' have been done with a regular relationship.
-I again feel VERY strongly about kelly's decision at the end and really kind of look down upon it. She's met Yorkie in SJ a few times, probably a couple hours in real time. Then of course Kelly visits Yorkie IRL at her hospital bed, but they can't really interact much with yorkie being paralyzed and not able to speak much. We also konw that IRL kelly was with her husband for almost 40 years. The husband (and their daughter) chose not to do SJ in expectation of a presumably Christian afterlife, which kelly seems ot be on the fence about. So after denying Yorkie's request to join SJ permanently, seemingly on a whim she gives in and does become a permanent member and totally ignoring the 40 year history with her husband. I guess if Kelly was 100% absolutely assured there was no afterlife it doesn't make a difference, but she makes this decision after giving a serious and heartfelt speech to yorkie about why she woudl NOT do it. Idk, I just didn't really liek taht angle although it definitely made for a "happy ending"
-Is there any kind of "insurance policy" of sorts in SJ? Like what if you decide to join permanently but you aren't very social and don't make friends well..are you just in this party town for eternity with no friends? That would seem miserable.

Finally watched Hated in the Nation a while back, so I can now add it to my tiered list. I'd rank it at the bottom of the second tier or the top of the third...somewhere around there:
My rankings are tough, since I tend to view them in tiers instead of a straight up list (although The Entire history of You is hands down the best IMO):
The Entire History of You
Fifteen Million Merits
Shut Up and Dance
White Christmas
San Junipero
White Bear
Playtest
Hated in the Nation
Be Right Back
Nosedive
Men Against Fire
National Anthem
Waldo Moment

I agree that tiers are probably the best route, and also that the bottom tier is unquestionable in a league of their own. My tiers would go:
White Christmas
Entire History of You
San Junipero
15 Million Merits
Be Right Back
White Bear
Nosedive
Playtest
Shut Up and Dance
Hated in the nation*
men against fire*
National Athem
Waldo Moment
*Haven't watched these 2 in a long time and have only seen once, so I may need to go back and take anoher look. I don't remember being overly wild about them though.

I wish I could get the love for San Junipero. I'd reverse that and National Anthem.
***But choosing an episode of bestiality over lesbianism is in no way a reflection of my own personal viewpoints.

I've seen two. The pig one and the one where the guy gifted a girl all his credits so she can become a singer and she becomes a whore, then he theaters to kill himself and gets a show.
Odd shite

So you've seen a good one and the worst one.
Do yourself a favor and watch white Christmas or entire history of you and report back.

why do people like this one so much, it was boring af.
Because it follows the premise of technology solving the mortality issue of humanity. However, it only hand waves many of the complications of the concept and ends the episode on an unusual and unrealistic happy note which is uncharacteristic of the series. It's one of the most shallow episodes of the series.

The whole reason Yorkie crashes her car is because she had just come out to her parents and ran off the road distraught.
Her initial discomfort when dancing with Kelly at the bar is because "people were watching" and she felt judged
Her parents stopped visiting and wouldn't let her pass over to San Junipero because of their hardcore religious beliefs and their disapproval of her sexual preference. That's why she had to marry Greg.
I felt like a huge part of the plot was derived from her sexuality.

The only one I've seen is the PM Pig one...That was so messed up I didn't watch anymore
Thankfully I heard to avoid the first episode like the plague until you've watched others to avoid it ruining the entire series.

Can't rank all, but my favorites by far are:
Entire History of You (so effed up)
San Junipero (cool concept)
Men Against Fire
Playtest
Shut Up and Dance
What I love about the show is how you can see how plausible all of those "futures" actually are, and it's scary to think about.

Decided since I hadn't seen it in years I would give National Anthem another go last night.
I've changed my thoughts slightly, to say: it's not a bad episode of television. It felt like a single episode of any other ~45minute long show ala prison break or lost or whatever else. But it doesn't feel like black mirror and that's my issue with it. I still despise that it's listed as season 1 episode 1 which is what most newcomers are going to watch first. It's not despicable and did keep my interest, but black mirror just has a certain FEEL to it mainly based around increased technology and futuristic elements and NA has neither.
