Ted Danson was quite literally the only true cameo in that film at the time it was being filmed.

- Paul Giamatti was a relative unknown at the time
- Nathan Fillion was also unknown
- Bryan Cranston was unknown
- David Farina couldn't be picked out of a line-up by most people even today
- Matt Damon became famous prior to release but after filming due to the success of Good Will Hunting

Vin Diesel wasn't a cameo appearance. He was a supporting actor with more than one scene. I was wrong to list Matt Damon as a cameo as he quite literally appeared in just about every single minute of the film's final act - which lasted about 30-45 minutes.

Tom Sizemore could have been so much more in film and television.

Sad to see

The cast of saving private Ryan is wild in hindsight

Vin Diesel is in it.

Ryan Hurst is another random one.

Tom Hanks makes a cameo for most of the movie

Obviously loaded with stars, but Dennis Farina and Paul Giamatti come to mind.

I like PG, but he sort of takes me out of the movie when it gets to his part.

He’s a chubby 30-something, which doesn’t exactly fit the mold of WWII airborne infantry.

Hollywood War movies has a long history of jam-packing stars in minor roles throughout the film.

1917 surprised me with the smaller cameos from bigger British stars.

But makes his “I have ankles like an old woman” line that much more perfect
