Why is this show not on HBO? Was it a play to get more subscribers to HBO Max?

Finish episode seven and there is only one more episode to go.
Ridely Scott pussied out. Mithratic religion? Bruh. So one of two things happened.
1.There was no Christiany in this world but it still had history unfold the same as our world. In which case it's kinda confusing but okay.
2. The Mithraic religion sprung up in the next 100 years and apparently converted people in mass and started a gobal war the destroyed everything. Which mean cults are bad....but a religion that spread and took over everything in 100 years, kinda lame.
I think Ridely Scott really wanted to put Catholics as teh bad guys in there. For some reason he chickened out. If you gonna do it, really do it. Make it that it was Catholics who help destroyed the world and that it was that bishop that rape that black girl.
I mean he stole everything else from them including the Eucharist. Why not go all the way?

I think you are projecting here. I see positives/negatives on both sides (atheist vs sun god followers). Plenty of time in the last three episodes to open up some more.

I binged 1-9 over the last 3 days and I lost interest midway as well. But might as well keep going.
The actors playing Mother and Father have been absolutely spectacular, but the writing hasn't done much for me. It's pretty disjointed and each new twist is more absurd than the last. When dude went all Bane with the android milk blood, that might have been the last straw for me. I'll finish the season, but unless it has an incredibly satisfying conclusion, I don't see myself coming back for season 2.

I notice a lot of Travis Fimmel's mannerism in character has traits of Ragnor......Love the show!!!!

This show got super weird the last few episodes and has dropped in quality dramatically. The entire 9th episode I was thinking W T F am I watching?

He’s the worst actor on whatever show he is on.
But I love the show. You just have to follow the dialogue closely in all episodes. Some things said in episode one are just now finding a payoff.
