They were trying to add depth to the girl to make you feel attached to her Basically the system failed her hence why she is selling drugs. I don’t think this is shoving sjw crap, it’s just a straight to TV movie doing a poor job of developing the story.

Her constantly rapping was cringeworthy

Why the hell is JGL in some lowly Netflix movie?

I think it would add more depth to have a black person NOT blaming everything on systemic racial blah blah blah for fricking once.

Oops, let my “privilege” out of the cage.

I thought it was a mindless but fairly entertaining movie.

ha, I just watched and found this thread just to say that. The one miss I saw from the NOLA portrayal.

I like all the screen time for Commerce Deli. Used to be one of my usual lunch spots when I worked in downtown NOLA.

I feel like these Netflix movie should just put a budget counter in the upper right corner of the screen. They all just feel cheap even though we're getting JGL and Jamie Foxx. Felt the same way about Bird Box and Bright

I turned it off right before homegirl was about to rap for a passing grade in history class. It seemed cool, but was really stupid

The Nola depiction was well done.

Except that Nola private schools are gender segregated.
