Just a few I've seen added in the last month or 2 that you don't always see on the major services (some I haven't seen on any in years.

Electric Boogaloo - Canon films are iconic for the demographics of this board, and this is their story.

American Movie - one of the must see American documentaries. This is a portrait of a small time filmmaker in Wisconsin trying to make his dream film.

Woodlands Dark And Days Bewitched - explores folk horror, from its beginnings in late 60s Britain to its spread internationally today. The term and concept, however, is very new.

Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room - 100 mph story of the rise and fall of Enron. This is one of those docs I've seen 30 times and can always put on. Lou Pai forever.

Happy People - Herzog follows people living in Siberia for one year. Nothing else needed.

The Source Family - one of the OG guru sex cults, who also made the best music of any cult so far.

Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead: the story of National Lampoon - the story of National Lampoon, from Harvard through the John Hughes era.

American Grindhouse - what you think it is, an examination of the grindhouse movie genre that populated drive ins in the 60s and 70s.

Best of Enemies - this is a documentary about the televised debates between William F Buckley and Gore Vidal at the 1968 presidential conventions.

The Nightmare - sleep paralysis is real and it is scary. This documentary follows it from the middle ages to today. The crazy part is that learning about sleep paralysis increases your chance of having it in the future.

The Image Revolution - history of Image comics, which should fit the younger Gen X and Millennials on this board right in the guts.

There are also countless lower-level ones about conspiracy theories, aliens, bigfoot, and other random/popular documentary subjects.

I really enjoy this one. Enron had some real pieces of shite working there.

Been meaning to watch the Enron one, always heard it’s great, didn’t know it was on Prime. Will check it out

Not a chance in f’ing hell I’d watch the sleep paralysis one, especially with the note that knowing about it makes you more prone to have it Lolol. I’m fortunate that I sleep like an f’ing G, always been one of my super powers. The older I get the more grateful I am for whatever caused that. Some of my friends and significant others’ stories and experiences with how poorly they sleep are horrifying to me

Looking at the roster today and Prime is stacked

Not just documentaries (although there are a lot of good ones I didn't list), but movie movies.

Prime is underrated usually. It always has such an insanely large library there is SOMETHING to watch.

I largely agree, but it blows my mind how awful their interface is. It is absolute arse.

Electric Boogaloo...6 to midnight. frick, B-movies and action schlock used to be so damn fun. Red Letter Media regularly reviews Canon films.

American Movie, I'm pulling it up right now to watch. One of those I can watch in entirety at any time and enjoy the hell out of it. Only other doc I can do that with is Wild & Wonderful Whites of WV. I love train wrecks.

I have only dealt with SP once. It took me a bit to realize what was happening, but when I did it helped.

Yes, but when you are familiar with the concept of sleep paralysis the nightmare is not nearly so scary as when you think it’s real.

To make it even more terrifying, author Whitley Strieber insisted (in his best selling autobiography Communion) that sleep paralysis played a huge role in the examination and sometimes abduction of him and other humans by "visitors" (aliens). As a young man, this scared the ever-loving shite out of me.

Then I read the follow-up novel, transformation, and realized that Strieber was a nut job. (He threw a fit when his book got moved from non-fiction lists to fiction.)

Great titles.

Especially recommend American Movie for those who haven’t seen it.

I don't do ads

Otherwise I'd have listed docs on Freeve, too.

Great documentary. Business Ethics professor made us watch that and write an essay on our takeaways.
