This was not your average power outage. The power came on then off 4-5 times before it went completely for around 8 hrs. It's on a surge protector strip. The issue is the left half of the screen is darker than the right and no longer can adjust brightness etc. Easy way to fix? Thanks

most tvs today are just like computers. a few boards and a screen. likely one of those blew.

we had a lightning strike really close to the house. blew out everything electronic in the house. Insurance covered it but, i was able to repair 2 tvs by replacing power boards.

This is what happened to a TV I had a couple years ago. I took the back panel off the TV and could immediately smell something had burned up and traced it down to a small circuit board.
I got the part # off of it, went on-line and found a replacement, had it shipped to the house in a few days and replaced it. A simple unplug/plug in the new part and hooked everything back up when done. It's still working today with a great picture.
If I remember correctly, the part was around $60, so it was worth it to replace. You may be so lucky if you check it out.

Thanks for the replies. I tried unplugging and plugging back in and a new hdmi cable neither worked. New I look on yt where the circuit and power boards.o r anything else. Might just get a new one since could use a larger one to replace this.

And now you have a legit excuse.

LED backlight. Easy to fix if you like to tinker. Not cost effective to pay for repair though. It's either fix yourself or buy a new tv.

TV’s can be frustrating like that. It’s why I refuse to get a really high priced one. Rather change out a $1000-1200 model every 5 years or so. Research it and likely someone will have a video for exactly what you need. Best to be confident before you start ordering because it could get to the point where you wish you had that money to put toward a new one. I have a UPS on my main TV and plug other stuff in as well like the cable box, router. Anything that’s a pain to wait for when the power blinks and it provides protection too.

Sounds like the backlights (may not be the correct term). I had this happen on a Vizio once. Had it fixed then it happened again so just bought a new one (non Vizio).
