Watched this last night. I thought it was entertaining. Very john wickish. My biggest criticism is they badly mis casted the bad guy. He was a terrible actor.

See I actually thought the opposite, his character was a caricature of comic book bad guys, over the top, and just no redeeming qualities. He was written to be over the top and I feel the actor did an amazing job portraying that.

i enjoyed Polar but i feel Polar will be just like Smoking Aces. People loved it when it comes out and then i just fades away. too much over the top scenes and colors, even though it was on purpose. Too much "boom boom boom boom" as letters are stamped on the screen. This style is good for a quick buck but never lasts long term.

i just which it show Vanessa's boobies.

I liked it but it fell a bit flat. They really blew it with the bad guy. They never showed anything to justify his position of power. There were several moments where he was being a petulant child and ordering Lagertha around that I wondered why she didn’t just kill him. Make the bad guy more worthy and it’s a good movie.

they kinda did. they showed him looking at his fathers painting assuming just some punk kid who inherited his fathers kingdom. movies RARELY prove the leader. Look in John Wick, why was the Russian so feared? his guys could have killed him right there too.

Yeah, but he at least seemed like he had at one point done something to build his empire. He also understood you don't carelessly piss off the Baba Yaga.

Seems like the kind of person Lagertha would kill and be able to take over the operation without anyone else asking questions. Near the end when his guards abandoned him, I expected that reaction a lot sooner, especially as they were going after one of their own.

Again, I still enjoyed it, it just seemed like a weak point they could have written better.

I mean, I feel like the main bad guy was written to be hated to the point that you knew his minions were going to abandon him at some point. He held the purse strings though - and from the opening dialog you could tell they were compensated extremely well. He also wasn't going after all of the retired assassins (just the recently retired ones, look at the old guy that betrayed him), and the company was going to be solvent after "this last one" - so the current assassins weren't going to turn on the punk, all they had to do was this one last mission and they were going to be set for life.

Which brings me to his character - they played him off perfectly, in any other situation the other assassins wouldn't have even flinched at another job to set themselves up for life, even if it's another assassin they are killing. Katheryn's character over and over again saw that the main bad guy's undoing was going to be going after Duncan... but the bad guy still held all of her money, so she was going to do that job. But her feelings came true - and Duncan was their undoing.

nah, because the assassin group, the girl "loved him" she would have something to say about that. I find that the people that build the empire, at an older age, usually have another muscle that owes them something, or has a relation to them. So this puck kid was using his power to string along muscle to keep from being over thrown from others.

but yea the portrayal of his was great if you wanted to show the graphic novel affect. it just doesnt convert to live action very well. Which is why Marvel has been so successful, they have brought comic books to the big screen without having that unrealistic fit, feel of the past.

SO put it on, wasn't excited about watching, loved it, like J.W.

I think the sequel will be the investors the Elton John leader-wannabe was trying to impress.

Would have been a much better movie if the main bad guy was completely different and played by a different actor. That part was shitty all around.
