Good choice. If you haven't seen any on your list, Requiem it has to be.

Go ahead and get some cartoons ready to watch afterwards. Should you need a support group, come back to the board.

This. I would recommend "Grave of Fireflies".

The way I feel about it tonight:

Taxi Driver
Chasing Amy
American Beauty
The Deer Hunter
Requiem for a Dream

Wouldn't want to have go to sleep after either of the last two.

Those two movies back to back would motivate me to commit hara-kiri.

Taxi Driver.

Definitely not Requiem..... saw that movie once and won't watch it again. Messed up movie.

Never saw The Deer Hunter but I know it's an older Jon Voight movie. I'd give it a go.

Too late. Scruffy watched Requiem.

It was a very good movie with great performances and a killer musical score, but holy mother of monkey milk, that movie is damn depressing.

Late to the thread, but Scruffy should have watched Taxi Driver.

It's even more of a travesty because Jennifer Connelly was hot as hell at at that point.

I watched it on Christmas a few years ago without knowing about it. I had been told it was good.
