Wow, an assimilated starfleet youth killing every other officer and taking over the fleet. Damn, that was intense.

It’s Shelby!….and she’s gone.

And the D looks beautiful. Got the feels from that one.

There is a lot to wrap your head around in this episode. No spoilers right now, but it was a very interesting episode. Not what I thought would happen, but it works. Will post more later as folk watch the episode and process all that has happened.

A lot to take in, for sure. There is a lot to finish up. Things are going to go REALLY fast this last episode.

Our youth are currently being assimilated by social media...LOL.

Great episode. I'm going to talk around the episode as much as I can as to not reveal too much until others have a chance to see the show.

It looks like my Pah-Wraith theory didn't pan out. I'm good with the enemy reveal and the show did a good job explaining the chain of events right down to the origin of Picard's Irumodic Syndrome.

Did anyone recognize the voice of the enemy? I'm almost 100% certain it's the original person.

The final part of the show with the big reveal would have brought a movie theatre to a loud cheer.

With one episode left, it's going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

It was 100% Alice Krige.

Good call.

I had it in my head that this HAD to be right. When it wasn’t that, it threw me for a minute.

It was her voice. I watched the credits and she had a body double, but she voiced it.

Hell yes it would have. That was awesome.

Things are going to go really fast in order to finish this in one episode. They probably could have had this reveal a little earlier, but they will work it out how they wanted it done.

Between us, you should pitch a Pa Wraith/new changeling story for a DS9 reunion show. I’d watch it.

Another great episode. Sometimes I worry that when shows “return” too many things that were already destroyed or dead, it really reduces the impact of its original ending… but damn did the Enterprise D look good.

Also, did they say no one has heard from the Borg in 10 years? Was that supposed to be the gap between seasons 2 and 3? If so, I must’ve missed it. Either way, I’m grateful that they seem to be retconning that crap they did with the Borg last season and re-upped them to being a top threat.

Also also, was it the Borg queen that was giving the changelings orders then? I guess those specific changelings had real enmity towards the Federation because of their torture but it’s not like them to take orders from any solid - even the Borg. But I guess the enemy of my enemy. And as far as we know it’s not necessarily all changelings are involved, correct? These are just some rogue super pissed off group of changelings that found a shared goal with the Borg?

Anyone else notice how Picard snaps out of old man voice and into his old role where certain things happen/the ending of this episode? Pretty awesome

So how many thousands of Starfleet officers died when they got Order 66'd by their Gen Z crew?

Did you also notice the "tuck" that they used to have to do with the old unis?

Also, the fate of Shaw...did he make it or not?

So...is this season better than the last two? I don't wanna read the thread, might watch it.

Significantly. By consensus in this thread this is the TNG sequel we all wanted. It’s been like a really good, 9 hour TNG movie.

Just picture this season as season 1 because you would be confused as frick if you watch Season 1 and 2 cause what happen in this episode directly contradicted everything in season 1 and 2.

This is the epilogue, the Undiscovered Country for the Next Generation Cast and crew.

I can't help but rave about this season, it is that good. Its a shame they had to get an actor that look old instead of his canonically 22 age. Its really distracting.

However, they keep on saying the entire fleet, yet Starfleet is much much more than that. All of those ships they showed make up at least one fleet. As during the Dominion War, a Federation Fleet contain roughly 300 ships with assorted fighters support. Starfleet had at least twelves of those, not to mention home defensive fleet. The fleet they show here that said the entire fleet is maybe a hundred possibly 2 at best.

Shelby also went out like a punk. The borg is naturally insidious but think how strong Species 8472 is to defense the borg organic manipulations.

The Enterprise D is still not cinematic enough and I would have preferred the E but I get the nostalgic factor.

I think there is definitely a wide range in fleet size from show to show. I remember first watching the TNG episode where Picard blockades the Romulans and thinking, "...he can barely scrap 12 ships together?" I was happy that DS9 put the fleet in Star Fleet...an organization of hundreds of worlds that should have more than enough man and material to field a massive force.

Assuming there would be other ships not participating in the ceremony, despite the show's emphasis that "every ship" was there, the Borg still have control of hundreds of Star Fleet ships, next to Earth well inside Federation space, and have presumably just killed hundreds of senior officers. It's a devastating blow. Plus, in theory any other ship that comes to the rescue will immediately be taken over by that defense tech that allows Star Fleet to take over the ships to fly in unison.

Also, Ro's decision to use a shuttle instead of a transporter all makes sense now. She apparently knew something was going on with them.

I don’t how he could survive that chest wound, especially when they don’t have control of the ship.
