That cliffhanger ending, good Lord. The scene where they are all around the table, man, that was something I have wanted to see for a long, long time.
Another good episode. Why did it take three seasons for us to get this? This is what most of us wanted when we heard about ‘Picard’. If anyone who ever liked/loved The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, or Voyager and you haven’t watched Picard season three, it is so worth it. I am thrilled that we finally got what we wanted, pissed it took this long, and sad it is ending in two episodes.

I think the "Pa Wraiths" may be the the puppet masters. When it appears to give Vadic instructions (and threats) certainly looks like some type of devil from hell.
The more I see, the more I think you are right. Given that Deanna is sensing a “voice inside him, ancient and weak”, the smoldering door, the dancing flames seen through the keyhole, and the red eyes; it all lines up.
If so, what I wouldn’t give to see Sisko again.

Don’t forget about Enterprise, I know people don’t care for it but it brought me back into the universe and the reason I ended up watching Deep Space Nine and Voyager.

The only reason I didn’t include it or the Original series is that the show runner specifically stated they wanted to continue the stories of TNG/DS9/VOY. I love Enterprise. I think it is terribly underrated. I swear, Jeffery Combs, as Shran, stole every scene he was involved with. He played that character so well. It has my favorite line from any episode:
Take us out of the system, but not too quickly. The Andorian Mining Consortium runs from no one.

It needs context to mean anything, but Combs was awesome as Shran.

Because they were trying to educate you. Now that new show runners is in place they actually trash the first two season in the latest episode. Love it!
HOwever there was two nitpick that is spoilers.
SPOILER
1. Changeling can survive just fine in space.
2. No way a solid can defeat a changeling in hand to hand combat. It is simply impossible.

“Regular” changelings can survive in space, yes. Laas flew through space without issue in Deep Space Nine. Last episode, which was episode seven of season three “Dominion”, Vedic covers why these Changlings are different. Long story short, because of ‘Project Proteus’, which was Section 31’s experiments on these changlings during and apparently after the Dominion War, caused the shift in their makeup, and the resulting semi-solids they have become. This would also give Worf/Raffi the ability to kill them in hand to hand combat, in theory.

One other thing that leads to my theory is the red eyes that Jack gets. The only other times I can recall in Trek was when Dukat was possessed by these being his eyes also turned Red.
The other time was when the "Kosst Amojan" Pahwraith possessed Jake.
When the Kosst Amojan was defeated, I don't think it was banished to the Fire Caves when Sisko defeated Dukat in the Finale of DS9. When it was cast out of Jakewho knows where it went?

And that plays well with the ‘ancient and weak’, as well as the voices behind the red door being the other Pa Wraiths.
I am really looking forward to next week. You’d think that we will finally learn what is going on with Jack and what the plans are for Frontier Day.

The Kosst Amojan could want Picard and Jack's body as a way of manifesting itself from noncorporeal to corporeal form. Perhaps the Irumodic Syndrome shared by the 2 offers some type of bridge that would allow this process to occur.

The "getting the band back together" episodes seem to have been the high point of this season. Hope it gets better, but it's starting to drag some.
The episodic nature of Strange New Worlds is looking better and better.

Everyone on the show is acting their asses off. The Riker—Deanna moments were stellar.

Rewatching DS9, season six, episode 21 “The Reckoning” which is the one where Kira/Jake are possessed by a prophet/pa wraith. Sisko broken the Reckoning Tablet, which released the prophet and pa wraith. I wonder if Jack could have stumbled across something in their travels and encountered one?

Not sure how I feel about them taking a DS9 and Sisko achievement and giving it to Picard to handle.

So far they've done a good job with legacy characters. I will say that if it is the Kosst Amojan and it took the return of the Emissary to defeat it that would be outstanding.

I would really like to see at least one ‘DS9 only’ character with the enemy being the Changlings and potentially the Pa Wraiths. Sisko would be an incredible cameo if this is the case. I still want to see René Auberjonois‘ son, Remy, bring back Odo.
Either/both would be awesome.

Dude, why even go there? You don’t like it? Fine, go watch SNW and enjoy.
Talk about your blowhards . . .

Agreed. He did the same as Weyoun.

It is always tough staying away from this thread while at work on Thursdays, as I usually try to watch it on Thursday evening with the wife. I may have to watch during the day though for these last two episodes. Im looking forward to checking out this new episode. Anyone know what time it drops typically?
