The doctor is fricking hilarious even after all these years.

He's high on my list of "Villains from my childhood that no-one remembers".

I would probably put him just ahead of the Riverbottom Nightmare Band.

Man, none of my friends or family remember Emmitt Otter's Jugband Christmas. Pisses me off. Thanks for remembering.

It's an annual watch in our household.

In my younger days, the band I was in used to do a mashup of Green Jelly's "Three Little Pigs" and "Riverbottom Nightmare Band".

I know I was the biggest fan ever of Pete's Dragon. I'm sure this version will be good too, and I will go see it.

I loved the original too when I was a kid. Always on tv in the 80s. Pete was an orphan and the Gorgans (?) were after him and Elliot. And I remember the "Bill of Sale" song with the Gorgans saying they bought and paid for Pete. Also remember "Candle on the Water" and Mickey Rooney, Helen Reddy, and Rosemary Clooney. Obviously the new version is different but I've been waiting to take my kids to see it. Even if just for a bit of nostalgia

I think I'm more excited to see Kubo and the Two Strings than my kids.

Just got out. Good movie. The kid who played Pete really gave an incredible performance IMO. Plenty of feels FWIW.

We are taking the kids tonight. My brother took his son earlier and said it was really good.

The CGI of the Dragon in the trailer looks horrible?

You sound like one of those guys that sees any CGI and instantly proclaims it to be horrible.

That movie was great and that was some of the best CGI I have ever seen.

Just got out from seeing it with mini me. This is definitely one I'm going to add to the collection once it comes out on BluRay. It was really well done.

Kubo is one me and the kids aren't really interested in. Just doesn't appeal.

Anyway Saw Pete's Dragon last night. Good movie, Elliot looked good, kids loved it a lot of laughing from all the kids in the packed theater.

It sort of looks like the ET plot to me.
