The new opening song is awful. Bad move. Everyone will be skipping that the rest of the season.

I was underwhelmed with the whole episode. The intro and the rest of the show. It's just so hard to top what they did with the original.

The episode came and went really quickly. I looked to see how much time was left expecting there to be 25 minutes or so and there was only 12. I feel like they would have benefited from at least a two episode premier. S1 had a three episode premier.

What are you talking about? It’s been known they would explain the change

Can anyone explain why Peacemaker is getting such focus and attention? Is this simply because it’s a John Cena driven character?

I thought it was just an ok episode. Most of the jokes didn't land for me, but Cena remains very likeable. The opening dance isn't as good, but I didn't think it was bad either. It's fine.

No, i mean why is Gunn pushing Peacemaker so hard? I've never even heard of him before. Like how or Guardians of the Galaxy or Deadpool had a select following, with comic book fans. Peacemaker seems even more obscure.

WB went to him during the DCEU era and asked him what he wanted to make a show about and he chose Peacemaker

He probably knew he had something special with Cena and it was something that hadn’t been done before. He talks about it in an interview but can’t find it at the moment

Ahhh, that makes more sense now. From what I've heard, Gunn tends to gravitate towards certain types of characters, whether he identifies with them or find them easy to bring from comic form to screen.

He does have a sweet spot, stuff he does very well. But imo, he's not able to translate other characters as effectively.

I can see that, he does the lighthearted and funny characters really well but he doesn’t evoke emotion or maybe a sense of stakes as well like other actors and directors (Bale, Cavill, Batfleck)

Also think he’s focusing on Peacemaker so much because it was his creation and it’s natural to onboard the new DCU with something that already exists and is really popular

What do you mean? What's been known?
I'm saying in this show for the first time we see more than one universe. Peacemaker goes into the portal and instead of just being a pocket dimension like in Superman it leads to alternate worlds. We see him interact with his Dad and brother. Ergo inyroducing the DCEU multi verse. I'm not talking about Gun redoing the multiverse. I get Flash also introduced this too. Just was interesting to see Peacemaker kill himself.

Oh yeah I was just confused with the “DCEU” multiverse, I think it’s more like the “DC multiverse” because they all exist (DCEU, DCU, etc)

I’m sure we’ll get a better explanation as to how the QUC and pocket dimension work or how they’re related

I'm sure I’ll end up enjoying Peacemaker when it's all said and done, but I'm really wanting to see someone else's work right now. With CC, Superman and now Peacemaker, it's starting to feel like too much James Gunn, if that makes sense. It might have been better to squeeze a different show from someone else between all these.

I'm actually looking forward to Lanterns and Supergirl, simply because it'll be something different. At least I hope it is.

I think this one will be good to show us where all this is going and to keep that continuity.

Then Lanterns should be awesome and a whole new creator/cast, Supergirl and Lobo, Clayface, Batman II.. then we can get back to another Gunn project with the Justice Gang or whatever that’s going to be

Everyone: "Didn't you paint yourself into a corner by having the Snyder Justice League in Peacemaker Season One? Because they were definitely in that cameo."

Gunn: "No they weren't."
