I am hoping Patrick Stewart has a lot of creative control over this show. If he allows these millennial idiot writers that have screwed up Star Trek Discovery to run amok on this new ST series and it would be a disaster for the franchise.

It would be wonder to simply have a continuation of the Star Trek Universe taking place 20 years after Star Trek Nemesis from 2002. The opportunity to see whats happening in the Federation offers many new stories alone with the chance to follow up on some beloved characters from the DS9, TNG and Voyager...How did 7 of 9 turn out? Did Sisko ever return home?. Hopefully they will get it right, but I am very skeptical

Always thought they should have taken the plot line in Nemesis of Ryker taking over as captain of the Titan and made a show out of it. New ship, some old characters, new characters, new explorations.

No.

But you'd be dumb enough to hope they would.

He is getting a bit long in the tooth to hold down a series lead but he would be great as a supporting character who plays a few scenes each episode. I'm not saying that to mock Stewart mind you, he's a tremendous actor.

But a role where he has a limited amount of time on set each episode would probably be for the best at this point. He's 78 years old. The man is not a spring chicken.

Come in, be awesome for a scene, let the rest of the cast carry the show.

He only has a few scenes in a lot of TNG episodes. That's what's great about TNG and DS9. The crew itself was powerful enough to have individual centric episodes so Picard and Sisco didn't have to always be the main stars.

What I think would be best for Picard, letting it take place after the Dominion War. Picard works to keep the alliance between Federation, Klingon Empire, Romulan Empire, and Cardassia as they and all of the Alpha Quadrant rebuild after a very long and destructive war. The Dominion and Borg could make some occasional appearences if needed.

Picard was one of the best at Diplomatic Missions, and keeping the peace with the Romulans would require a lot... Or keeping the Romulans and the Klingons from going at it as well.

What gay world did I wake up in where everyone thinks freaking Picard is cooler than Kirk?

Picard was a pacifist taint licker compared to Kirk. Only Brony’s think Picard > Kirk.

It’s only homoerotic if you feel it’s erotic and you’re a homo thereby proving my point as to why you like Picard

Number of unnamed STDs as well.

If Kirk and James Bond had sex, it would mutate into another form of life and destroy the planet.

I can see him as Admiral Picard in charge of Starfleet Academy, having to deal with the highjinks of a rouge group of silly and rambunctious cadets, and having to do stuff like put them on double-secret probation. He will then bring in Riker to use his ideas on how to get hijink revenge on the cadets.

Seriously, though, I thought TNG was the best of the series and enjoy anything with Patrick Stewart in it. I will be looking out for the return of Picard.

Does Picard finally accept the Admiral rank and leave the chair? I mean they made Janeway a freakin Admiral and no way should Picard be reporting to her. I’d assume that was his (the character, not the actor) choice.

Wonder who takes over command of the Enterprise. Riker already moved on. Now a show about Worf as captain of the Enterprise? A Klingon in command of the Federation flagship? I’d watch the shite out of that.
