I don't understand all the hype with this movie. I saw it tonight and was pretty disappointed. Its a good movie, but all the "scariest ever" stuff I have been hearing?? No way.

The same ending you saw. It is a creepy movie but not very scary at all.

You may not get it, but there are a lot of people who were freaked the frick out when they saw it. I went to the first Friday night screening in Baton Rouge, and I thought it was okay, but a lot of other people in the theater was pretty shaken up after it ended.

The best thing about this movie is that they didn't resort to gore to try to scare someone. I applaud them for no being so formulaic. Not the scariest ever, but good creepy fun.

Different people are scared by different things. Some people feel completely safe in their home at nigh while others have a bit of fear that creeps in at night.
This movie will scare the second group.
No different than Blair Witch scared some people and others laughed at it. Blair spooked me because anytime I go camping I always spook myself thinking how easy it would be for someone to make me just disappear.

I thought blair witch was kinda creepy but nothin special. The worst I thought was the ring. I fricking laughed hysterically the entire time.
I'm hoping PA will scare me because for some reason I've been craving a scary movie.
For those that have seen it, should I go see it high or sober?

I'm overall pretty interested in the horror genre and I thought it was a pretty well put together cheap movie with some pretty good scares. The reason it's creepy for most is because it hits home for the audience. Movie is based in home (mostly in bedroom) so people immediately start thinking about what goes on when they sleep at night.

do what i did...go sober then smoke AFTER the movie so to help you sleep
what i did do, however, is i drank one of those purple "drank" thats supposed to calm you down and i actually felt pretty relaxed throughout the movie

People in the theater
STFU totally ruined it

I think this movie is a lot like Blair witch. On a small scale independent level type of movie it would be great. If you walked into a theater not knowing anything about it, it would be a great horror movie.
BUT on a national scale with all the hype and everyone hearing about it, knowing what to expect when you see it, it kind of leaves tou feeling ehh...

I watched it with an open mind and I didn't find anything scary about it. The last 10 minutes were pretty creepy but that's about it.

Yeah it probably could have used more of the last ten minutes, and less of everything else.

Yep. I heard it cost $25K to make and has made 61 million already before this weekend. Guys are getting paid like a pimp

I'm watching it right now..it is having it's moments. But it does seem kinda gimmicky
ETA: Last 10 minutes are creepy as hell

I liked it.
Drag Me to Hell involves talking goats, Cloverfield involves monsters, The Mist involves creatures from another dimension.
Paranormal Activity takes place in a house. While the majority of what happens during the film appears implausible, it's more realistic than a demonic goat, given many people believe in ghosts. In that respect, this is a nice change, and it was worth the price of a ticket.
