Those things are solid sugar bombs. They have no taste.
In order to get a fresh pie over there, you gotta order off the menu. His buffet is a mess.
Get the fried bacon-wrapped shrimp poboy and/or blackened shrimp poboy at Griffin's. You can thank me later. I dated a girl from Houma, so I did a lot of eatin' over there. West Main has good pizza (my fave is the BBQ beef dressed as taco) but $40 a pizza? Come on.

re: Good horror movies

Spellbinder, starring Kelly Preston. GREAT horror flick (with the added bonus of KP topless), but hard to find...
Only bad thing about Camellia is that you usually have to wait in a seemingly endless line to get in...
I've been looking to try this place, too... anyone been?
Honestly, the best burger I've ever had was at a place called Del Kid in Robinson, PA (near Pittsburgh). It was a 1-lb. burger with 8 strips of bacon, known as the "Spider Burger" because the bacon hanging out of the sides looked like legs. Served w/ home fries & brown gravy...
These two at Pancake Pantry in Gatlinburg, TN were great:
Blue Ribbon Hamburger: A most unusual sandwich! A special sauce intrigues you. Then the melted cheese on the 6 oz beefburger combines with a green pepper ring, bacon crumbles and banana slices to provide an unexpected blend of flavors, French fries and a Garden Salad
The Viennaburger: It's a 6 oz beefburger with Old World Charm. The ground beef is mixed with a delightful blend of onion, garlic, tarragon, rosemary and other spices and topped with a sauce of our own creation (The sauce is served separate and you add to your liking). French fries and a tangy Bavarian kraut salad. Lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise
POC's burger was pretty good, definitely better than Yo Mama's. But my favorite in N.O. is the Doc Brinker's Special at Camellia Grill, with a chocolate-cherry freeze. In BR I have to settle for Raoul's or Riverside Patty, both of which are OK, although I think Mason's Grill probably has the best. Southside Bakery in Lafayette is also good..

re: Grand Isle or Gordon Biersch prior to MNF in the dome?

I went to Grand Isle a while back... didn't care for it at all.
Whatever happened to Johnny Rockets and Camellia Grill in Perkins Rowe?
Drusilla used to have a special, not sure what night it was... but their oysters were the best I've ever had.
I went to Yo Mama's about 6 mos. ago and was unimpressed. I tried 2 different burgers and both were OK, but certainly not the best I've ever had or even remotely close. Then again, I think POC is overrated, too.

No joke... I gotta add this place to my "MUST DO" list.
During my time at Nicholls I ate there quite often. They were really good, but then again, so were Rob's Donuts in Thibodaux.
Liked Blair Witch. Liked Cloverfield. Liked The Ring. Hated The Mist. Hated Paranormal Activity.

I don't understand all the hype with this movie. I saw it tonight and was pretty disappointed. Its a good movie, but all the "scariest ever" stuff I have been hearing?? No way.
+100000
Most people in the theater when I went were saying how much it sucked...
"Cujo? What's wrong, boy?"
Chimes is actually OVERRATED, IMO. Only things I like there are the etouffee and the duck gumbo.
