They did a really good job of making me hate an inanimate object and be the “villain” of the movie

Judge Doom is way up there for me. His whole toon reveal is scary as hell, and his slow, brutal, and completely unnecessary on-screen murder of a cute, naive, scared lil cartoon shoe is still, arguably, the single cruelest thing I've ever seen in a mainstream film.
