what? That is absolutely not the plot of this show, the poor people were awful humans and half of them were drug addicts, thief’s, and murderers.
First 4-5 seasons of this show are awesome

That whole period in Lip’s story - the professor, working as a houseboy at the sorority house, and then the Asian mechanic girl at the motorcycle shop was quality television.

yet they were the protagonists. down and out heroes stealing from the privileged and unworthy. I must admit Frank was funny, not likeable but funny.

I've yet to meet a real, honest racist who has the capacity to explain 'muh racism' like those guys did.
I know, from life experiences, there are folks out there, intelligent enough to form coherent, well thought out sentences explaining the 'virtues' of being racist but the folks this show is attempting to portray aren't them. This smacks of the writers projecting their own head canon into their work. Kinda funny though, to some degree.

The fact that you think smart intelligent people cant be or are not racist doesnt show much for your life experience.
We are all racist to some level. Some more than others and some just focused in different areas. The entire "racist" conversation is a absolute waste of time and just a weapon these days.

But the random group of blue-collar workers portrayed in the show aren’t them.
And I don’t believe we are all racistto some extent. It isn’t racism which separates us, its value and cultural differences more than anything.
