This is a weird rant, so it’s meant for young boys and not kids, I think most people understood what I meant

Adolescent boys. You seem incapable of understanding what that is. Is there a reason why I keep repeating myself to you?

A 7 year old boy is not the same as a 14/15 year old. Very different tastes and preferences and interests.

Dude, everyone knows this what’s your deal? It’s fine if you enjoy the cartoon as an adult I’m not judging you bro.

Kids, adolescents, children, it’s a show designed for people who are not adults, chill out man…

It has some adult elements in it, like blood/violence and sexual innuendo.

That's why it's targeting adolescent boys and up.

You still refuse to acknowledge this fact in your responses and continue repeating "Kids, adolescents, children"

Kids =/= adolescents=/= children

Are you incapable of distinguishing between adolescents and people much younger?

Is a 5 year old the same as a 14/15 year old?

No dude of course they aren’t the same. What the frick is your problem? Are you being intentionally ignorant I’ve acknowledged your point 3 times now. My counter point is that when I said it was a kids show everyone knew what I meant except for you, I then said yes obviously I meant adolescent kids.

Now you’re still being an a-hole about it for some reason, are you slow?

No, you posted this:

quote:

it’s designed for kids and I’m not a kid,

Which tells nobody anything about the show and comes across as an attempt to demean as "beneath you".

Some of the shows elements:

-smoking
-drinking
-executions
-slavery
-murder
-prostitution
-stealing
-military themes
-sexual innuendo
-violence

On what planet would anyone characterize a show like that as a "kids show"?

Kids of a certain age can certainly watch it, but it is most definitely NOT a "kids show" by American standards.

I have literally moved on and acknowledged what you are saying FOUR times now.

It is a show marketed for teenagers, I’ve literally acknowledged it 4 fricking times.

What is your problem?

I started it at 32 years old

The anime can definitely be frustrating at times. The creator has a pattern he follows where the first 25% of the arc is setup, character development and world building, then the next 60% is getting them from point A to point B (this is the most frustrating part), then the final 15% is direct conflict and conclusion.

THat middle section probably adds 300 episodes to the series. It's a better pace if you read it but it's also 1093 chapters now so still not a short journey. Again, I recommend One Pace to anybody who really wants the best viewing experience .

Really enjoyed the first two episodes so far. I thought the look of this show would be a turnoff as previews oscillated between cheap, cw, and uncanny valley, but everything works in context. It’s just the right combination of zany, heartfelt, serious, and light. I was really skeptical of this show going in, but I think we have a hit, here.

Koby's evolution is definitely apart of the story.

I guess you can say that. Just started reading the manga and I think I have another hundred chapters before he shows up again. His entire "character development" after Luffy ditches him is via cover page 1-shots.

I didn't know the actor that plays Koby is trans until I read it here. The character is a wimp with no backbone, crybaby, effeminate, and Alvida's little bitch before he meets Luffy.

eta: I do have to chuckle a little about them not touching the manga/anime version of Alvida eating a devil fruit and becoming beautiful/skinny. Better to leave her out than stir up the mob.

Started rewatching the season. Better the 2nd time around. Also, picked up on some subtle things I had missed the 1st time.

Damn, this is a really good show.

I just tried to watch some more of the anime last night, I’m with you don’t know that I can do it.

When I was a kid, like 6 or 7, I'd watch older anime. Stuff like Speed Racer, Marine Boy, etc... so it takes some doing for me to sit down and watch anything anime as an adult. Even if I like other forms of animation - Wreck it Ralph, The Incredibles, Across the Spider-verse, Arcane. I'm far from being any sort of a weeb. Despite my SEK moniker

But even so, I did enjoy somethings, like Parasyte. As weird as that is.

As for the whole 'it's not made for adults' stuff, who's really to say? I specifically avoided watching Buffy and Angel for that very reason. I wasn't a HS or college coed, so why waste my time watching pre-Twilight vampire romance stuff? Finally, a friend in her mid 30's would not shut up about how good these shows were, and long story short, I'm glad I got around to watching.

Watch what you want. Good writing is good writing. Don't let others dictate what you want to enjoy.
