For sure, but almost every movie this century has Bond not just disobeying a few orders but operating “rogue” or tendering his resignation in some form or fashion. It’s a tired trope at this point.

You can't do period pieces of any type anymore because you have to interject 2000's morality and values into to it, making it totally untrue to the time period.
