Completely different movie. Much better than the original. I guess I’m used to streaming series for 4 hours so I didn’t mind. I didn’t like the way Darkseid looked personally. I always thought of him as being chiseled like a rock. I wasn’t a fan of the wet look.

Except they didn't. The scene where Zod et al are arrested was cut from the movie. Rightfully so in my opinion because the arctic police idea is just goofy as hell but the intent to show them alive was there. Just saying.

I got about 30 minutes in. Has much more of a flow to it. Couple of scenes have gone a little longer than needed, but nothing has felt drawn out.

Anyone know what language that was in the Aquaman village? I can tell they filmed that where they filmed some of GOT.

Down here at the beach and the storm woke me. Started watching it. It’s better the story is cleaned up. Was hoping they would make Superman’s return a little more badass.

Is the movie playing in 4:3 aspect ratio for you guys? It is for me and it doesn't feel correct.

that is intentional...something about wanting it to be easier to convert to IMAX screens if the opportunity arises. irritating to say the least.

I'm almost 20 minutes in. Having all these helicopter shots of vistas and and city-scapes in this ratio is counter-intuitive, but If it's intentional I'll resume and stop feeling like there's something wrong with my TV.

I did a quick fast forward through the film stopping at several high points to see if I wanted to invest 4 hours watching a movie that in the original release I found lukewarm at best.

I am pleasantly surprised at how many total scene rewrites occurred. Many old scenes were either modified, reshot and several old scenes were completely deleted.

I was very pleased with the backstory of Cyclops. Very well done.

It was a great move to retool Flash from a bit of a pussy-geek to a bad-arse geek. Completely different perspective.

This film was was basically a DCU informercial with all of the new characters introduced.

I'm looking forward to sitting down and investing the 4 hours to watch this well done remake.

If the scene was cut from the movie, it's not cannon and the last we saw of them they were falling down a seemingly bottomless crevice without any super human abilities. The fall would have either killed them or left them paralyzed.

Coworker watched it. Told me it was the same movie, generally. Leads in the same direction. Used like 40-50% of the scenes of the first version.

It was in the tv version when it first aired on ABC.

Your coworker is wrong. Just finished it. Way better than the original cut. I grew up loving Superman and thought that the original was the best superhero movie for the longest time. Then Nolan came on the scene, and eventually we got movies like Winter Soldier.

DC movies have been a mess. Man of Steel was a mess, BvS was worse. Wonder Woman was fantastic, Shazam was neat, and I actually have a soft spot for Aquaman ( I do for Captain Marvel as well).

When they tried to "fix" everything with Whedon coming in to change the tone of the movies after WW, I was interested. Whedon had witty dialogue in Buffy, Angel, and Firefly and Avengers was solid. WHen I saw the movie I would have rated it a 6/10, better than BvS, and IM2, but not a great movie. Steppenwolf sucked, Barry was a punk, and Clark fighting at the end was terrible with the one-liners.

This version fixes all of that. It fleshes out the backstory of the characters, deals more with the loss of SUperman by Lois, excises all of the funk, sacrifice bullshite that Batman has for feeling guilty. Even though it is 4 hours, it is a coherent movie, way better than the original version. Leto's take was much better and having watched it, he sounded like Walter Goggins and I kind of want Walter Goggins to be the Joker.

This movie actually sets up DC going forward. I felt like the original Justice League didn't. I'll be curious where they go from here.

i watched the first 30-40 minutes on my computer to get a feel for it while I should have been working. I thought it was much better this time around....Scenes were restructured/reordered in a way that made sense, and some of the scenes added a lot of context that was missing before.

i was disappointed that the opening batman scene was not in it, though....did he move that to later in the movie or was it a Joss Whedon piece that was eliminated altogether?

I didnt say he didnt say it was better. But certainly not without faults.

He said it was ultimately the same movie, but with more added to it and more thought put into it. Its 2 extra hours, of course it should be fleshed out. Lots of Cyborg. More Flash.

But he was expecting it to be more different from the original than it was. He said he was surprised with how much was from the original due to how much of Snyder’s film people claimed was not in the first version.
