Negan is the best character on the show.
By far

Isn't the kingdom group doing that with the pigs?
I think someone from the show explained that it was simply a matter of fattening up the pigs for Negan without having to waste any of their food or supplies. I don't think it was meant to poison them.

I just wonder if that walker meat was tainted in some form...

Kind of curious why they didn't do this. They knew the dude was coming. Seems like this should have been the first thing they did...
Am I the only one that thinks this may have happened and it just wasn't shown to leave us viewers in the dark?

Well Negan did come early... it seemed like the Alexandrians that weren't at the skull bashing party didn't even know what was going on. All part of Negan's plan of course.

The character specifically said that he wanted the pigs' bellies full of rot.

When asked, one of them explained, "I want their belly full of rot." I don't know if that's the ZA equivalent of spitting on their food or what, but the Terminus survivors eating the black guy's leg flipped out when he revealed he had been bitten. Not quite the same thing, but still...

Revenue from commercials. They really stretched it out. They easily could have fit that in 1 hour.
I think they purposely dragged this episode out to get it past 9pm so they could get Negan's "dick down your throat" line in there.

i think they need to address the disparity between the saviors treatment of alexandria and the hilltop vs that of the kingdom...
unless this is just sloppy writing, it appears that the residents of the kingdom have no idea about negan and crew, and for whatever reason negan hasnt come inside to terrorize them. that makes no narrative sense without an explanation

They really haven't touched any backstory on the Kingdom yet. It seems like them and the Hilltop have been dealing with them for a while though.

but they did make it clear that the hilltop has gotten the lucille treatment (and even demanded their leader's head) and the kingdom has been left alone. scenes from next week show the saviors inside the hilltop presumably to demand they turn over maggie
meanwhile the kingdom is happy making cobbler and singing dylan songs. it doesnt make any sense

Ezekial said he has kept their deal with Negan a secret from the rest of the Kingdom.

I know that
the question is why the saviors have allowed that

I sort of remember Ezekiel saying they encountered the Saviors on the road a while ago. Maybe they fell in line right away so Negan didn't feel the need to make an example out of anyone there. I'm with you though. A little backstory here wouldn't hurt.

They can say whatever they want on cable. Cable isn't regulated by the FCC. Channels have historically censored themselves, mostly due to ad revenue. You can see this changing in recent years. They may have an internal policy about profanity and specific times.
They could show full nudity if they wanted to and not worry about fines. But there could be backlash that ends up hurting ad revenue.

Why would they go through the trouble to hide Maggie? Seems like a much bigger risk to hide her. If Negan finds out someone is going to die. The only risk of keeping Maggie around is her going off on Negan if she sees him.

Its also kinda of hinted that Negan lets his henchmen do most of the dirty work for "points". I don't think Negan really cares too much about the Kingdom until there is a problem. Its probably a very beneficial relationship for Negans guys (consistent points with very little risk or work) and the Kingdom (exchanges happens offsite so everyone stays happy).
Also the kingdom seems somewhat decently armed and they have a Tiger, they could probably fight off a small group of the Saviors, but not the big group. Ezekiel knows this and is trying to avoid war.

I don't think Rick actually knows Maggie's current state. But he definitely doesn't want to send Negan to the Hilltop to go look for her.

It didn't make any sense. Rick's afraid of hiding guns, but not Maggie?
It was even riskier since it seemed like they came up with the story on the spot. Everyone else wasn't in on it, and anyone could have spilled the beans at any time. How can they keep her hidden forever?
