Why are the LSU fans on TD so stuck in their ways they can't adopt what every other board did when Saddam Hussein was still in power?

Absolutely. So you can discuss it with people on your level, and nonreaders can discuss it with people on theirs.

There are inherent problems when people who have read the source material try to discuss it with people who haven't. The level of discourse won't be the same, and thus will be one-sidedly bad (usually the side who hasn't read the source).

Seems to work completely fine on the 100s of other boards I've seen that run Proboards, Zetaboards, and other online platforms. Hell I've seen boards switch completely from this format to Zetaboards within a Day.

You sound dumb. No board runs their spoiler policy that way.

Again, other boards =/= this one.

You've made that argument before, but this board has its way of doing things. If you'd prefer the other ways, then post on the other boards.

(btw, not meant to be assholish, just making the point in general)

reader threads

I actually stay out of the reader threads because people are spoiling episodes of the show. So it sucks because you can't post anywhere without spoilers.

I only say, to my credit (and people can search my post history for all I care) that I have not posted spoilers and have kept most of my speculaton to myself since it is terribly biased by my knowlege of the comics.

As far as being 100% convinced Terminus is a cannibal settlement, I just looked at the clues provided by the show and formed an opinion.

Hell, I could be wrong, but like SFP said, it would laughable if it turns out the woman was grilling a piece of beef and really they just want to be friends.

Part of me thinks they did scout the place and this was sort of the plan all along. They just didn't show the scouting to add suspense. Or, of course, they could just be that dumb.

Rick, Daryl, Michonne and yes, even Carl have become savvy enough to know how to scout a place properly. They had to have known something was up with all the sealed windows and doors along with the sterile and too-orderly appearance of the place. They went in far too quickly and brazenly. I would be willing to bet each has a knife or some sort of item hidden on their bodies, survivors that smart don't leave buried weapons as their only fallback.

As to the cannibalism query... I see it from a few different angles.

1. The bodies picked fairly clean
2. There's a bbq going on when both groups show up and we know that wildlife that could provide large chunks of meat like that (deer, cow, pigs, even horses or dogs) have been increasingly rare (their talk of hunger and the trapping then sharing of only a single rabbit supports this).
3. The herding. When I first saw the gunshots around the feet I knew they were being herded.
4. Cannibalism is about the only horrible thing they haven't encountered yet.

I agree with the timeline mention though, it's only been about a year and a half in the show's reality since the outbreak. That's pretty damned quick for an entire community to eating other people.

Giant Carl: we dealt with this with Giant Walt in LOST, sort of. They just moved Giant Walt off the show. They can't do it with Giant Carl, so they will probably just ignore it but start having characters acting and interacting with him at the actor's true age (or close to it).

Speaking of Carl, it seemed like he not only understood why Rick went all Wolverine on the pedo-guy, but he seemed to approve. I think that conversation with Michonne was in some part about that. "I'm not the person he thinks I am" meant (at least to me) "He probably thinks I am upset by the extent of crazy he dished out on that guy, but I'm not. I think he deserved every stab". With that said, I am kinda liking Carl now (don't hate, CocomoLSU, don't hate).

I think this clutters up the board though

Two or three threads isn't really a clutter. And the middle ground threads usually come and go.

I think Carl and Rick have both come into their element now.

They fully realize what life they need to live in order to go on living in this world

I agree. I think Carl may have been a little too far into Carol-land when he shot that kid (zero regrets), but Rick had gone waaaaaaaay too soft.

Good point. It was a good second or two to not be intentional, but I guess who knows.

Because if you know the source material then you know what is gonna happen but you wrap it up in a nice little "speculation" bow.

And somebody said 90% of the show is not from the comics?
That is complete bullshite. The main story is pretty close to the same overall plot. Hell the show runner on the talking dead said last night that they had pages from the comics on set while filming

Did you see how wild Rick went when the Claimed Gang was going to rape then kill Carl (not to mention the rest of them)? Imagine how lab-rat-crazy he will be if Judith is about to be eaten.

C'mon Fall season!

besides certain iconic scenes, the show and the comic are two separate entities
