Yeah, towards the end of FTWD it got pretty good. Anxious to see how life on this boat works out. That's my go to move when the real ZA goes down so curious to see what happens

I think that plane lands in the ocean, some survivors tie in with the fear cast while in the water.

I'm leaning towards Eugene
1. They knew exactly where to intercept Rick &company later that night
2. He'd become too tough to have given them up out of duress
He knew the numbers were too much against them so he drove straight to them and cut a deal agreeing that HE would be the life sacrificed so that Maggie could get help and the others could live on
He gave rick the instructions on making bullets right before getting on the RV, he knew then that he was going to sacrifice himself

I can't believe the number of people crying about a cliffhanger...the instant gratification crowd strikes again. You guys would have went ape shite over the 1980-81 Dallas season finale where JR Ewing was shot by a mysterious person....had to wait several months for that one to be solved. 83 million people watched that one and had to wait. You pussies can wait. This episode was actually bigger than who got on the business end of Negans bat. Which by the way I thought the last ten minutes of Negans speech was spectacular. This episode was more about the deconstruction of Rick. By having the season 6 ending this way it is creating so many more avenues and storylines for season 7 to go into. TWD needed this. Now we can start discussing the Fear series!

That black guy has the voice to take over from Morgan Freeman when he is done

Haven't read every post but a good majority. This show had the opportunity to be something unique.
Imagine instead of a cliffhanger our original group, Rick's crew, all get killed off at the end. Seeing the situation that they're in let's say Negan doesn't need "workers" and slays the crew. That would've been a jaw dropping moment in TV history. Start season 7 with a whole new cast with all new back stories. Probably too many fans getting upset to keep it going but talk about freshen up what some consider getting stale. Negan seems interesting enough for people to be intrigued and tune in for at least a few episodes.
Not sure if this was brought up in the last few pages but upon my 2nd viewing my mind starting wandering. How many shows have the opportunity to bring a close to a cast that's been around for 6 seasons, keep the "world" they're in the same and introduce new and interesting characters and get their POV?
Tl; dr
Sorry, show had chance to take a direction many don't while freshening things up. Would take brass balls from show runners. Come on October!

Hope it gets leaked. I never want things to, but with this I don't care. Just because of how they did that. If it was an original way to handle a show..may have worked. Goes back to the glenn prolong and even taking his name from the credits. Annoying social experiments.
Their way of storytelling, they needed more than that..and to think of The fans that they could have gained.

If they're going to give a truely impactful death- it'll be Glen.
Glenn would not be an impactful death. Glenn is already dead IMO.

This. A Glenn death right here would be extremely cheap. The dude should've been dead a long time ago.
I don't feel like waiting the 6 months just to figure out it was somebody who should've been dead a season or two ago.

The "Who shot JR" thing isn't the same at all. The main plots that season had already been paid off in the finale. It wasn't some huge build up for someone will shoot JR in the finale like AMC did this episode. It was a great cliffhanger because no one saw it coming. It was a surprise at the end of the show that started a new story, not some lame arse cliffhanger that TWD pulled the other night.

If the Internet was alive and well back then it would've been spoiled. Can't really compare the two at all. Cell phones and message boards have totally revolutionized the way tv shows are promoted and produced.

Not to mention it was at least original for that show. Gimmicky for this one.
Just give the audience something to really discuss. Not "what ifs".

Scott Gimple is a huge douche. You know it's bad when he has to start promising that they will make it up next season immediately after the finale.
Whichever character it happens to be, it doesn't even matter. As it's been said, the death has lost its impact and will probably be some B-cast character anyway.
The show runners are pussies and really bad at writing suspense. This cliff hanger is so terrible, it makes you apathetic -- the complete opposite of what the device is supposed to do!

Doesn't she have a Broadway show opening soon?

Not sure, but if she does it may lend a little credence to my theory.

Just looked it up, her play the familiar is on Broadway right now

I think a lot of people saw this lazy cliffhanger coming. So what has been the response to the overwhelming negative reaction?
