So what happened with the Hilltop Mayor?
Was wondering that too. Anyone know what happened to Gregory? I just remember Jesus saying Gregory wasn't there when telling Maggie she had to decide. Last I remember was last week Gregory contemplating stabbing Maggie out in the field

"It's a Goddamn tiger!"
Perfect response and timing.

Even with Hilltop & The Kingdom, Rick's crew is still vastly outnumbered by the look at that last Sanctuary scene.

He asked someone to drive him somewhere after looking at a map

Oh I guess I won't be watching Talking Dead tonight. So dumb to delay it an hour.
Opening action scene for into the Badlands was better than any of the walking dead this season

20 people shooting automatic weapons as Negan rides by with his finger out the window and not one person can make the shot?

I'm rewatching the battle with the CC on, and Negan's lines during the battle are freaking awesome.
"That widow is alive with guns ablazing!" talking about Maggie, and "You taste that, Simon? It's the taste of shite!"

So last night, we watched a couple episodes of the marathon for the first time since, I don't know, around the time the Governor died? We decided to go ahead and watch tonight's episode even if we didn't know who most of the characters were or what their backstory might be. While it was all enjoyable enough, I get the distinct feeling that the series still suffers from something I found annoying back in the day -- they don't know how to just wrap a major story arc up. I'm not asking for a neat little sitcom ending with everything wrapped up in a bow, just a story that doesn't feel like 70% filler. Granted, I may be assuming too much from the 3-4 episodes we watched, but it sure felt that way.
Also, there are some way hotter women now than back in the day. I can say that because the wife said it first.
So...would it be worth the effort to track down however many seasons we missed and watch them? Am I being too quick to judge just from the few recent episodes we caught? Would the fact that I just find Negan annoying as a villain be considered a popular or unpopular sentiment?

Maggie has been pregnant this entire season and she is still not showing. I think she actually skinnier now than when the season started. Did I miss a miscarriage or something?

Negan is by far the best character this season.
What did he say when Zombie Sasha lunged at him? Something like Holy Got Dam!?

He makes low-IQ jokes, and the target audience just eats it up.

Seeing as how Negan is the best character on the show, I'd go with unpopular.

how could negan not know Ezekiel has a tiger?
the whole "arrangement" with the kingdom makes no sense knowing what we know about the saviors and Negans need to have the world entertain him
negan knows all about ASZ and hilltop but has never set foot in the kingdom?
great episode otherwise except I was more than done with the whole Sasha thing
that could have been cut in half

Yeah, I can see the people with hurt feelings downvoting already.
As I said, we only watched 4 (I think) episodes, so that's not a huge amount to go on. I grant that. I just think he comes across as too contrived -- I can see the writers behind the character trying to create a roguish villain, which takes me out of the story.

Ezekiel has said several times that the Saviors have not been inside the Kingdom.
I doubt he takes the tiger for daily walks outside his walls.

So not a single thing was accomplished by this episode, right?
We're in the same place we started with the Saviors planning an attack on Rick & Co.
